I posed a similar question a couple months back and unfourtunately not too many authors of the IR cat responded. I fear that their fantasties are based in perceived reality. TX's story is great and I love it. Yet, the fact that IR is such an issue for us marks us as global neanderthals. Despite societal taboos, interracial relationships have developed outside the US like seeds spread on fertile but stony ground - slowly but surely.

Geez, I feel boring. When I wrote my interracial story, it was more to do with the location (Japan) with the visuals. And besides, there are plenty of readers who like an Asian/Caucasian spin.
