(fliched from an idea on the General Board)
What would you do, if you logged in to find Literotica gone? Kaput, shut down, no longer in existence.

Would you seek another outlet for your writing, or just let it go?

I would find somewhere else to post. However, I've been to some of those "other" sites. It seems that the communities there are less connected than Lit. I don't know if that is because we have this cool bulletin board, or just because of how the comments, feedback and voting is set up but...

Please.... *shudders* don't ever think such things. :eek:

You're a smart lady, sche. I might even try to unrustify my computer skills to help you out.

I have other outlets for my writing though. Paying outlets. ;)

The writing bit wouldn;t be too bad - I'm hoping to get published anyway. The lack of forum would kill me though - I only have the e-mails (or phone numbers) for a very few number of people on here - how the hell would I stay or get back in touch with everyone I love?

we should all have a set meeting place as a back up... *noddles*
~~~~~~~~~
I'd probably go into convulsions over not seeing the new photos in a certain persons thread again:eek::D I would miss chatting with a lot of people as well.
My writing, what new writing? I get a few lines inspiration every now and again but now time to meld them into something worth anything. If I did have something worthwhile it might bite not being able to share it.
We'd pop up elsewhere, I'm sure.
Sites that attract liberals are like bars that tolerate gays, they have a hard time staying in business. Liberals and gays wanna be up everyone's ass all the time, and it gets old.
If LIT folds someplace new will open its doors in a week.
I'd email Joe W and whine at him. :p
But my writing has an outlet, in fact i barely write for lit anymore, sadly. I'd miss my friends, I don't have everyone's email address but I'd love it.
We should set up an Emergency lit yahoo group for people to gather at just in case. :p
Yeah, that would hurt.
Some might have noticed that I am a bit, um, political. No, it's true! ;) Also I like to argue and debate about political stuff. I know, you never would have guessed. :rolleyes:
Now here's an odd thing - I have not found a better place to do so than AH. I've been on some political boards, but the rank partisanship there is tedious, and the quality of the debaters is spotty. But AH is writers, and writers tend to be a bit brighter, a lot more thoughtful, and somewhat more idealistic than the rest of the herd. When a libertarian ideologue like me is debating with lefty ideologues like many here we rarely get bogged down in that rank partisanship, which is about power and is the mother of hypocricy. Instead we talk (fight) about ideas, principles, premises, core values, ideals, etc. Surprisingly, that seems hard to find online.
An aside: Forums in general appear to the one place online where left and right come togehter to wrestle. In other places like blogs it's all one side or the other talking to themselves.
It's possible.
Just heard a blurt on CNN that Time Warner and 2 other ISP's will start blocking child porn. Wonder how that will effect a certain other site where many from here have stories? :eek:
The age policy here is a saving grace on this one. :rolleyes:
The writing already has another outlet. It's the friendship I'd miss. We'd have to re-form elsewhere.
:)
I am within five feet of her, in the same room. I wish I could remain so... it will come to pass, but there are affairs to be put in order first.
(Also, I have eye surgery Thursday.)
*hugs and kisses* I'll have you in my prayers on Thursday, handsome. :heart:
Cataract? Scheduled to join you soon, wish us both the best.
tuning up my vision, actually... although cataract may be in my future as well. No worries, Ami...the tech and track records are amazing now.
I had my eyes done over a dozen years ago. As I've aged, my vision has changed again and I have gone back to being nearsighted, although nothing like the extreme I was at before my first surgery.
The fact that I am going back should tell you how pleased I have been with the results.
Thank you, Ami and EL for the thoughts... I'm not scared and only have the sligtest bit of nervousness. I just want it to be done. They can't do LASIK because of the chance of complications, so they are doing PRK. It is more accurate, but it also means they have to burn through the lens, so I will have a few days recovery were I won't be seeing so much...
I have posted stories on two other sites, but this one is many times better. I would sorely miss the feedback I get here, and the arguments. :(
It would be the forum that I would miss. I wouldn't have a way to contact much of anyone. I have no phone numbers and only one or two emails.
A paltry replacement, but a good emergency backup;
http://probablepossible.com/story/
:)
A lot of us are on myspace and/or livejournal as well...
Several of us use NaNoWriMo.
That site is open all year, not just during THE month.
