I heard an argument at a Wal-Mart between two deliquent teenage boys about the teen angst band "Linkin Park". One kid picked up a Linkin Park CD I believe was "minutes to midnight", and asked his mom to buy it for him. And another teen said "Linkin Park is gay". And the kid who was buying the CD starting arguing violently in an infantile choice of words and in ebonix-sounding broken english, for about 3 minutes, until he pulled out a switchblade and started slashing at the kid with it. The cops were called and arrived immediately, and the two kids were subdued at gunpoint.
One was stabbed severely and was crying and bleeding. These kids were probably about 16-17 years old. They kept calling eachother "your gay", and "fag", with almost no other insultive vocabulary than that. I exited the store after that, but I did peek around a corner and watched most of it. I know the stab victim was taken on a stretcher into an ambulance, I don't know if he survived or not. I watched the police cuff the kid behind his back, and when they searched him, they found TEN bags of Marijuana on him. Including rolling paper and condoms.
If this is what has become of this country's youth, then this world has a very grim future. I'm sure he was charged with attempted murder or murder, depending on whether or not the poor kid lived or not. I researched online, and found out about tons of fights and other kind of violence at rock concerts of such bands as Linkin Park, System of a Down, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and other "negativity preaching" music groups. And the hormone-imbalanced, angsty, uneducated, low incomed, pothead teenagers that listen to them.
I watched a live Evanescese concert on TV once, and 95% of the audience were nothing but 13-14 year old goth girls. Dressed in black, and with their faces painted, about 1/4 of them were pregnant. Some of them were kissing other girls. Is the government working with youth-oriented music, and television to worsen the process of cultural decline that is destroying our children's lives with drugs, sex, crime, and violence, with some kind of secret brainwashing project? When I was in high school, from when I was 15-19 years old, all I ever heard the kids talking about was sex, drugs, (ESPECIALLY DRUGS!), and how their best friend was killed in a drive by shooting. (probably drug/gang related) And keep in mind, these are middle-class white kids. And it doesn't take place in Harlem or the Bronx.
I, for myself, have never even seen a drug, let alone tried them. I have never had sex, never been arrested for anything, don't know anyone who was murdered. And I actually DID graduate high school with a diploma and a 3.5 GPA. I plan on going to college, (whenever my parents can afford it), to study business or something with computers.
