Nobody believed it, except a few women who thought it was too cruel a hoax for him to pull. They thought they knew him. He expected to come back and find people gloating over his death and all he found were a few grieving women and the rest, not buying a word of it.

When the same poll was posted here on the GB you claimed that the posters here "aren't representative of reality." when your opinion was overwhelmingly rejected (over 80% if I remember correctly).. When the poll was run in the AH, despite your attempts to cloud the issue with false allegations, you were still found to be far in the minority there (90+% against your justification), amongst those you claimed were a superior breed of Lit inhabitants (At least until you were resoundingly rejected). When all else fails and you've been shown to be far in the minority there as well, insist that the vote was rigged. With no evidence that it happened of course.

Why? Because Lt's concept of social interaction is "mutally assured distruction". People whom he thinks still like him are spared his attacks. His standard for this behavior is fairly low. It helps to be female, but not necessary. She must never ask a question and always be polite and complimentary.
There are still a few people who cling to Lt's memory, before his slow desent into madness. I remember reading a thread from many years ago and running across one of his posts. It seems strangely civil. A new comer to Lit does not have the benefit of fond memories like that.

The person who still sees some decency in Lt is a Lit Unicorn. Some think the creature is extinct and the last ones may only exist in Lt's mind.

Sensible people have trouble with self inflicted injury and most of Lt's actions simply make no sense, but are still fascinating for being totally self centered, yet totally self unaware at the same time.
Its the same reason people visit the Le Brea tar pits. They look at the preserved remains of animals who only wanted a drink of water and were trapped in the goo, while other animals stood on the hill and wondered how good could water from a tar pit taste?
