Smelling the same as all the good meat coming off the grill.. priceless
 
Just Hickory. Used charcoal rather than the briquets for the heat and hickory chunks soaked in water for the smoke.

Fruitwood trimmings work really well, too. White oak from furniture projects is okay but not, repeat not, anything coniferous.

-nods- Hickory is always a good standby, as is mesquite. Though one of the more interesting ones I had was chips made from an oak barrel that previously had contained red wine...
