I can't believe....

Which begs the question: Why are you here, then? I mean, I don't see you offering sage writing advice or adding to the discussions in any way beyond shit stirring.

Oh, nevermind. I should know better than to expect a cogent reply.

Sorry, Sarahh. Had to quote the dude. You can take it out on the person in my avatar ... who is, of course, not really me. Nobody would want the real me, after all. ;)

I'd vouch for you, for sure :D

Oh, shit....forgot that "we're all one person with lots of alts" thing. Damn.

IMPRESSIVE.

My tenure on AH began with a food fight about grammar. People here get anal about grammar, though most of them spell it 'grammer.' So that was the time when I became the IGGY KING.

Begs the question? You dont understand the term, then.

Will is a pimply, awkward teenage boy, too. We just hire stand-ins for public appearances at book signings and conventions.

:rose: But thanks for the compliment. ;)

He looks damn fine his kilt for being pimply and awkward.

And the two of you look great together in formal attire.

(I still like/lust after that one pic you shared with me in Chicago, too.) Yum!

SARAH

"Troll" isnt duct-tape. It doesnt replace every word you dont know.

You should see the one I took in Pittsburgh last month. The boy looks FINE on his knees. I'm just sayin'

All that, and a great voice too (I still have the audio file somewhere of him reading that poem I wrote :) )

Hmm.... well wow... what... unique retorts. I can see that some people here don't know how to understand what another person emotes in their posts. Thank you for the helpful post sweetsubsarahh. I actually did not know that it was just a bot that spit back our stories with an acceptance or a vague rejection reason.
This all leads me to wonder about a few things on this site but alas as I was met with such an infantile responce by someone I shall keep my musings to myself.
For the record... as if it mattered... my writing is not perfect but let me say this: I edit, I spell check, I have a good, a damn good, command of the English language. I am always willing to learn how to be better but I will not accept the poor attitude of someone who knows nothing about me and decides to spout crap as if they were the end all and be all.
Don't like MY attitude? Don't think I was right in posting what I did then bugger off! No one made you read this nor post a reply to it. Just shake your little god blessed empty head and go on.
Oh and obviously there are some who do not know the meaning of being an author since if you were one you would take personally things about your writings as they are an extention of you. Having said that and with the realization that a bot spat my story back I will not take the rejections seriously as they are literally nothing in meaning.
Thank you again to those who posted helpfully.

It's funny how all these teenage boys have kids and families and well, lives....

Hey wait a minute, if the reverse is true then I'm a teenage Indian girl with dreams of being a cowboy.

Or I could be an alt for Sarahh or Cloudy :( I could never get so lucky.

I said several helpful things, but you've got your head so far up your can't-be-wrong ass, you'd never see them. I'll match wits with you anytime, any place, Ms. Perfect. I'd sworn off making newbies cry, but for you, I'll make an exception. Well, on second thought, never mind, you're not worth my time.

I believe this calls for a "fuck off," so....

Fuck off, cunt.

Bugger off? What part of Texas are you from? Just asking because it's not a phase that I normally hear.

I rest my case.

What case? Your no-punctuation-using, massive-inferiority-complex, end-all-be-all attitude, can't get a story accepted case?

You're an amateur. Find someone else to try to feel superior to. Doesn't work with me.

The forums on Literotica generally do offer help, if people want help, that is. Sometimes it is tough to tell from one post. At first glance your first post was pretty critical of this site. Some of us have been here awhile and are pretty protective of Lit.

Okay, VERY protective. With good cause.

It is a free site, after all, and offers a pretty good service for those of us wanting to get publicity for our writings. They don't owe any of us anything, right? And we are free, whenever we wish, to take our stuff and go elsewhere.

But on your latest post, before you slam someone about not knowing the meaning of being an author (!) you really should do a little checking on a person's history, on Lit or elsewhere. Truly.

But you're welcome, and I hope it helped, and I am serious about getting another pair of eyes to check your work before you submit. Most of us do that, anyway. A second (or even a third) person will find typos you never even knew you had.

Anyway.

I'll just drool over your alt then :D

(I too am a pimply faced kid )

Welllllllll, if your damned job hadn't interfered we could have checked out our alts in Chicago. :(

Next year?

I'd like to know if your lap is as inviting as it looks.

Thanks, sweets

(doubt it'll take the advice, though....can't improve on perfection  )

Hey TXRad, I was born in Texas and raised here but I spent alot of time in the UK and have family here from there so yeah I tend to pick up their slang. lol

Oh and sweetsubsarahh when I made the author comment in my recent post I was refering to the fact that the other person had said something to the effect of how I shouldn't take it personally. I think all authors take personally things said about their work if they are passionate about it no matter if it is a published novel, a work of history or a story on an errotic writing site.

Don't get me wrong please. I have enjoyed my time on Lit. It has proven fun and useful. I posted on here because I thought something unfair. It was a rant. I didn't post on here to put down a person like the reply I received in return. I didn't post on here to tell someone off and put them down like that other person did. Of course I did defend myself and my position but I had a right to after that very rude first responce.

So really... this was quite informative.

A lot of the time, you can solve a lot of the little problems in and on posting stories by submitting it as a file instead of the cut and paste. It also takes the bot out f the picture. Some say cut and paste is faster but I haven't seen it that way.

I use word and just submit the file. So far, no rejections. Well, there was that one story I posted drunk that was only nine words but we won't mention that, ok.

I'm glad.

But I have to defend cloudy, here. YOUR first post was easily perceived as rude, and attacking Lit. She was in defense mode. See how that happened?

I see what you mean about the author comment but then again you didn't possess all the information about a Lit member to make that sort of a statement, either.

One of the things I've learned from Lit is that there are people who post here from all across the world. We have different customs, different slang, different expectations, different everything.

Check around the Author's Hangout. You'll learn a lot about the people who reside here.

Find out how protective we are of our own, authors and works. (The Stolen Stories thread comes to mind.) We get in full attack mode when someone steals stories from anyone.

Check out the Negative Feedback threads. We all bemoan when our works get slammed.

Check out the Story Contests threads. We all support each other (well, except for one or two nonsupporters!) throughout contests and things.

It's a nice big family here. We generally get along fairly well and we're damn serious about our writings.

Welcome, by the way.

Relax and enjoy the ride.
