I am in a right state here I have had intruders I left the dogs in the garden and one of them started to go mad I just thought she was being a nuisance as she barks at everything that moves but then she started hurling herself against the hall door and I went down. The other one was missing and I found him in next doors garden I just assumed he had got through the fence somehow so I brought them both in and came back upstairs to my computer ... next thing I hear is a mass eruption downstairs with breaking glass, I must have shut the intruder in!!!!! the back door was open the back gate was unlocked broken glass all over the floor papers knocked down the iron half way across the floor a lamp broken. All I can think what would have happened if they had got past the dogs and upstairs to me?!! I don't know if the dogs went for them or what and thats why stuff was broken

Wow, UYS. That's really scary! I hope you and yours suffer no ill effects from this, it sounds as if nothing of value (particularly the people there) was taken. I hope they capture the thug(s) and that you can move freely in your neighbourhood any time of the day.

You hate to think of all the reasons people are cautioned to stay secure even in a neighbourhood they've lived in for years. I'm glad you only suffered a break in. Yay puppies!

Figured out what must have happened .. I left the patio doors open so the dogs could go in the garden the intruder got into the garden at the bottom where the neighbours fence is down thought we only had the one dog and lured him through the small garden gate into the rest of the garden and came into the house where he met Chloe who is not quiet or placcid and she went for him that's what the hubbub was and stuff got smashed. She won't leave my side now and is glued to my leg!!

Just shaky when I think what could have happened but for Chloe I knew she was protective but not how much .. you read stories about dogs that have been rescued and then going on to rescue the new owner well she came up trumps for me she is my heroine right now

Cheffie love I dunno where you are, but I want the gold chef's hat today! I just made the most awesome carrot cake (ee's fave dessert). It has three layers, a caramelly buttermilk glaze that drips into the layers and a cream cheese frosting. It looks gawjus, like it should be in a bakery window! Maybe I'll take a pic of it. Lol. I'm proud of myself.

Phew. Now a quick break before I start the sauce for the lasagna.

Have I mentioned that I really love this guy?

Thanks hun and I am so sorry about your dog ... this bastard let one of mine out and didn't give a damn what happened to him I am just glad he ran into several pounds of angry Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I hope she took a lump out of him but because of this we havent called the police. He's hardly like to cause a fuss now but if caught could complain that we have a dangerous dog in the house and in this country dogs are not allowed to bite whatever the provocation. My nerves will heal and the stuff that got broken is insignificant but Chloe's life is precious

Wow! Yes, you are right, her life is precious. I am glad nothing tragic like that happened. My sister has a dog of the same breed, he is so strong, so beautiful His name is Charlie

But this morning I did get up around 9ish and now I'm making bagels (hear that Cheffy?), my own from scratch bagels. You can't really get a good bagel in Maine. Whether you can after mine are done remains to be seen.
