Irvine Robbins, co-founder of Baskin-Robbins whose penchant for creating unusual ice-cream flavors helped push post-World War II America far beyond its chocolate-vanilla-strawberry tastes, has died. He was 90.

Robbins, who opened his first ice-cream shop in 1945 in Glendale, died Monday of complications related to old age at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, said his daughter, Marsha Veit.

Now we have to list your favorite B/R Flavor ~

English Toffee was my favorite. I got to go there once a month as a kid, and I always got it.

That chocolate mint kind was my favorite.
Nowadays, it seems that around here all Baskin Robbins are connected to a Dunkin Donuts. Talk about a double dose of evil temptation!

Our's just did that too.
So I can't go in there, because I'm a donutaholic, and can't be around Donuts.

mmm... donuts.

Chocolate or pralines n cream, but more so chocolate.

Old fashioned DD are great with vanilla ice cream.

mmm... donuts.

Me too.
DD is a pale competitor to KK, though. I could easily eat a dozen of the Krispy Kremes, if they have just come off the line. In fact, I've done that several times.
Thank goodness they closed the KK near this hotel.

Or possibly proof of god. The one here is (or was) open 24/7

My fav is peanut butter and chocolate.

I was never a big fan of Baskin Robbins.

Im a marble slab gal. Chocolate peanut butter cup is my fav. MMmmmmmm.

For about 10 years I lived a half block from a Baskin-Robbins store.
Lucky for me, I'm not an ice cream fanatic.

Though I have been dying for something from there ever since I posted this last night.

I druther have ice cream than donuts in the morning.

B/R had some chocolate fudge concoction that floated my boat.

DD never had any allure for me - at all.
