Hi NJ! Bistro's a little quiet today aside from Hat-boy giving dom lessons. What'll ya have? How ya been?

The Pipe Wench, as I remember (must go look it up at some point) was actually a whole set of things, since a mixed drink wasn't your preference. Wasn't it a double shot of quality tequila, with a side of fresh tortilla chips and mango-chipotle salsa? I can get chefferolla on that right away if you like.

Just heard some shocking news that our parliament are discussing stopping spending money on sea defences and letting the sea come over into Norfolk. Six villages will go under including where I was born and the village close by where my Grandparents and Father are buried and where we laid my Mother to rest alongside him nearly a year ago!

it was indeed a shot or two of Cuervo Gold. I am not a big drinker, but when I do, that's what it is. I didn't remember the side of chips, but that would make it perfect! Give Cheffie a big hug for me.

oh! Meant to tell you, and I don't know our route yet, but hubby and I are s'posed to be in Durango, Colorado to build an ice plant sometime close to the 16th of this month. I've never been west and truly can't wait. I told hubby we would have to go through your town and stop and say HI

After that will be some place in the far west panhandle of Oklahoma. And when that one is done, the next one could be anywhere. We work for a company that primarily builds ice hockey floors and cooling systems for mega warehouses like the one we finished in Florida back in January. That was a wonderful job. I can't imagine a profession I would love any more that the one I fell into.

I sometimes think I should feel guilty for the things we build, but it is such a great feeling to finish a job and look up and think, "Damn, I helped build that!" My hubby, myself and one tower crane operator set the final steel on a bank HQ in Columbia SC about 3 years ago. "Topping out" is what it's called. It felt good doing something that most women never even want to do, or have the chance even if they want to do it, lol. sorry for rambling, I get excited before a job, cannot wait to go

Personally, although the research could possibly be fun up to a point, I don't think I want to be toughened up I mean to say who wants to be like an old boot in the nether regions?

Goodness, no. No actual physical toughening. It's more a matter of increasing endurance, getting the skin more used to the stress, and teaching you to reinterpret certain physical sensations as pleasurable. The body and mind are both eminently trainable given sufficient motivation and willingness.

So I'm going to do something ridiculous, but dammit, I'm doing it anyway. Given that I wrote that thing in 45 minutes between customers, I'm actually going to edit it and post it in the May thread as one of my entries.

I know it's silly. But really, I couldn't help but poke at it a bit. It's funny, but with a little tweaking it could be funnier.

To be honest, I think it's amusing me far more than it amused anyone else, but hey, I always say that the only important thing is that God gets all my jokes. Everything else is frosting.

UYS, you really must forgive the chef. He's schmoozing you madly, so he deserves some kind of reward, and besides, he's oversalting all the food with his penitent tears.

Indeed *nodding* I just ran across that. Man, that fine critter is having a rather stellar year!

He's way too classy to come into a dive like this, which is probably one reason he won the contest and found a nice woman to marry, but we'll toast to him anyway. We'll start with lotsa champagne in silly little glasses, and then a ridiculously large cake with a picture of a dusty vampire on it, and we'll see if Chef is not too sore from his penance to maybe whip up a little something for a celebratory dinner.

I could use a party, quite frankly. and vampiredust surely deserves a major celebration.
