I'd write these myself, but if my track record with stories is anything to go by, the Apocalypse would come and I'd only be on the third page (I normally try and write longer stories, since word limits just feel too restrictive).

First Idea:
Basically a lycan-human story, but with a bit more of a plot. The lycan's 20 years old and studying biology at a college, he's a black panther lycan. I've thought out a lot of the back story; various lycan clans, the politics between them, some lycan biology and a few miscellaneous things I can't think of at the moment.

If anyone wants to try their hand at this, let me know in this thread and I'll PM you the background details.

Second Idea:
Lesbian story this time, again more of a plot behind it than your average sex story. Main character has some powerful psionic abilities; though she's most skilled with telekinesis. She's also skilled in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, so her body hasn't suffered because of her higher mental abilities. Again, I have a few more details for this one that I'll PM to anyone willing to write it, though you'll have to wait a couple of days for me to actually get them all sorted out (the other story's notes just need to be typed up).

Anyway, if anyone's willing to give these a go, post here (if possible, provide a link to some of your past work so that I can get an idea of what you're capable of) and I'll try and get the notes to you ASAP.

What exactly makes a Lycan different from any other type of werewolf (sp?). Isn't that just an Underworld made-up race? And just what type of story are you thinking about in terms of introducing the female? It's good to have the backstory related to his history, but where exactly do you want the story to lead to?

Also, if you write longer stories, break them up, and place them in the novella section, or make a series.

I'm just using lycan because I was planning for the story to have many sub-breeds of lycan; wolves, leopards, tigers, jackels, hyenas and many others, but all predatory animals. And the word lycan is a short version of lycanthrope, look it up on wiki and you'll see that it's not unique to Underworld. I just see a lycanthrope society using lycan for simplicity, like how we humans normally shorten peoples names or use acronyms.

As for introducing the girl, I was thinking of her being one of the guy's classmates at college. Some sort of incident would reveal the world of lycans to her (because of a group that has a grudge against the guy's clan, it could be them attacking him one night and her getting caught in the metaphorical crossfire (not many lycans use guns)). This meeting forces her to learn about the lycan world and the guy is forced to spend time with her, to make sure that she won't reveal their existence to the rest of humanity. I don't want it to have any definitive ending (he's not going to get rid of the group going after his clan), the lycans in my story age at such a slow rate that no lycan has ever died of old age (not because they just keep living, inter clan politics make the odds of living past your 2200th birthday slim at best) so if the guy kills the bad guys this early in life, there's not much to put into future stories if people like the characters.

As for why I don't submit stuff into the novella section or break it up is because I'm a professional procrastinator and a chronic sufferer of Writer's Block (and I'm easily distracted from the task at hand sometimes).

Ok, now i see what you're getting at. It was my bad also, as I was confusing lycan with lupine. It would be a shame for you not to write it, as you seem to have it all planned out. I too procrastinate,so I know your stuggle.

I'll take a shot at the psionics. I've only posted one story on Lit so far but it should give you a taste of my love for detail. Are you thinking medieval or modern times?

Present day. I'll have a read of your story later, no time at the moment. You'll also have to give me time to get the background info sorted out, at least a day or two.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to clarify; Monazwx, are you wanting to do the lycan one or were you just asking out of curiosity?

Sorry if this counts as thread necromancy or whatever, but I just wanted to put an update about the psionics story. All_atremble's got the notes for it, if anyone's wanting to do the lycan story, then please speak up.

I was considering it, however, I'm going to have to pass. Just too much work at the wrong time I'm afraid.

The lycan story kind of reminds me of my story Shadows and Light. Isabelle the main character turns out to be a child of a were-panther. She apparently didn't inherit the bloodline (at least that it is what she and everyone else thinks). Once she bloodbonds with her vampire lover though that side of her "wakes up".

@Monazwx: Don't worry about it, I know the feeling.

@Emerald_Dragon: I'll have to look that story up. I'm not planing on there being any other supernatural races in the lycan idea I posted, even the lycans aren't as supernatural; just a different off-shoot of the human genome.

The moon; does nothing to lycans, silver burns them but it's a biological reaction, like an allergy. Being turned into a lycan is done by a powerful mutagen that they can secrete from their teeth. There's a lot more in the notes about it, but they're more believable lycans than what you see in most media.

Something just occurred to me in regards to the lycan story. As I mentioned above, lycans in my idea age at a much slower rate than humans (at only 1% of the speed, meaning that it takes a whole century for their bodies to age as much as a human does in a single year). Now, this isn't a universal slowdown; when a lycan is born, they grow at the same rate as a human until sometime during puberty (I'm thinking around the 15/16 years old mark), when their aging drops to the lycan norm.

Anyway, the main lycan character in the story is only twenty. I was originally thinking of suggesting his aging at having stopped when he was 16, but I'm worried that if he's physically 16 in the story that it might not fit the Literotica age restriction for stories. Would a physical age of 16, with the actual age of 20, be let past that rule or should he be a bit "slow on the brakes"?
