BFW's Public Apology To MungoParkIII

I publicly apologize to MugoParkIII for thinking that the Survivor Contest was a conspiracy. I offer you my belated congratulations on your win of the 2007 contest. Laurel sent me a PM a couple months ago telling me that you existed and I ended my public outcry of foul then.

Yet, it's sometimes difficult to stop a rolling ball.

I apologize for calling your stories crappy on the forum threads. They weren't crappy at all. Some were rather good.

Let it be known, even though I thought I was being cheated against by you, I never bashed any of your stories with a mean post. I'm sure that you can attest to that on my behalf, as I've never bashed another writer's work.

What precipitated all of this was someone sending me an e-mail back in Septermber 2007 warning me that a group of writers were banding together to write stories to post under one name. Shorter thereafter, you appeared dumping dozens of stories in a short span of two months. I posted my outrage of this on one of the forum boards. I wish someone had informed me then that you were a valid writer and all this could have been avoided.

Now, it appears that I was played the fool. I'm an honest type of guy and am easy to take advantage of, at times. (If anyone beautiful women want to take advantage of me, please e-mail me.) Daniellekitten wanted to sell me some swamp land in Florida and I was interested.

I hope you can forgive me.

I'm thrilled that your stories will appear with my story in The Big Bad Ass Book Of Sex. With that said or in this case, written, I hope you will once again compete in the 2008 Survivor's Contest to defend your title, as there is no rule stating that the winner cannot compete again.

As my punishment, I will refrain from posting on these forum pages anymore. I'm done playing games. I'm no match against the types of people who post and lurk here 24/7. I just plan on writing my stories.

You were told... several times, that MungoPark had been around and posting poems and such earlier in the year. You just didn't want to hear it.

That's at least the third time I've seen some variation of these words, Freddie.

And if I see that spurious claim that you've never bashed another writer's work as an excuse for your continuing badmouthing of everyone, I think I'll scream.

You bash others' work all the time. You do it in threads you hope they'll never see or in stories you hope they'll never read. You do it anonymously and using alts in comments.

You bash stories all the time. You just don't have the guts to do it under your own handle.

Many people here criticise others' work. We do it in plain view of the author and sign our Lit names to it. We point out problems and suggest ways to improve. That's not bashing.

Now, please, do us all a favour and stand by those words I quoted.
