Coming Together : An Erotic Cocktail

that was cute and funny - thanks I needed that after sending my children back to their father last night.

Ooookayyyy,

So ... I do have some interracial stories.
But I never published them in that category because to me that was not the focus.

Would that matter?

So...

I wrote an interracial story once. I guess. The main pair was a black dude and a white dudette. That's how they looked on my mind's eye when I pictured the scenes and wrote them down.

Only problem is, the race thing was so much of a non-issue to me that I totally forgot to describe the race, heritage, or skin color of the characters. So nobody but I know that the American was in fact an African American.

The point I'm trying to make is: Are we, by focusing on interracial relations as a Good Thing (which it is, all relations are good things :) ), also contributing to making a Big Thing out of it?

Hello!! {{hugs}}

Do you remember that little voice snippet I sent to you of me reciting a poem.... can that be used in the outloud one??

It was set to licensed music, sweets. I can't sell that. 'Tis illegal.

LOL Next question, actually two:

  • I wrote a story for the Winter Contest and a year later a sequel. Afterwards I blended the two into one long story, which is not published on Lit. Would I have to remove the two originals?

  • I offered the merged story to aj press in 2005, reworked it according to their comments, but ... never heard anything again. I assume it's mine to do with what I want after close to 3 years?

Sorry, I'm a virgin (in the land of publishing).

:D

1. That's your decision. Exclusivity is not required for Phaze-published volumes of Coming Together.

2. I would assume so.

 Thank you.

Reworked the thing into CT format.
Do a reread in a couple of days.
Find an editor.
Send it to you.

Cross-posted from the Coming Together blog:

Coming Together to help the victims of Cyclone Nargis

I'm sure you've seen the horrific numbers. Cyclone Nargis, coupled with the insular junta government of Burma (Myanmar), may be responsible for over 100,000 deaths -- and 40% of those are purported to be children. Over a million people are homeless, either because their homes have been destroyed or because 5000 sq km of Burmese land -- farms, homes, businesses -- are under water.

Author Ann Aguirre has a great fundraising effort ongoing on her blog. By sending her proof of a donation to the aid charity of your choice, you'll be entered into her drawing for a $150 gift card to the online bookstore of your choice. Ann says:

Here’s the deal. You pick a charity and donate some money. I don’t care how much. Send me an email with a transaction number, showing that you gave to disaster relief (even just a buck), and I’ll enter you in a drawing for $150 worth of free books. If you tell me how much you donated in that email, I’ll give you another entry. I’d love to track how much we raise. I’ll include my own donation in the tally. Next, post a comment as a secondary tracking system for me, so I don’t lose any entries. I’ll be updating the tally in the sidebar as we go along.

The winner can pick the store where he or she spends his $150.
I am personally adding $50 to Ann's gift card, bringing the total to $200.

As for Coming Together, our Hurricane Relief edition is still available in both ebook and print. All proceeds go to the Red Cross for disaster relief efforts worldwide. (Although it's available from all the big stores, we raise the most $$ when these books are ordered directly from the publisher.)

By Coming Together, we can make a difference! What are you waiting for?

~ Alessia

Important Notice

The Charles River Press contracts for volumes 1-2-3 will expire March 1, April 1, and May 1, 2009 respectively.

At that time, it is my intention to find them a new home with a publisher who is not so *cough* lethargic. That may be eXcessica, if Selena will have us. Or, I may try to find yet another one to increase Coming Together's footprint/presence. By then, I should have this puppy incorporated as a non-profit, too. (Once incorporated, I could use some help with the application for federal tax exemption, if anyone has experience with that. Tax exempt status would open the door to various grants.)

Only those who are subscribed to the Coming Together Yahoo!Group, have selected a real-sounding nom de plume (as opposed to a username), and have returned the very simple contract I've been advised to implement will be included in the next editions.

Further details will ONLY be posted on the Yahoo!Group. This thread is no longer a reliable means of communicating with the participants.

Thanks, y'all. :rose:

Tomorrow night -- Sunday 27th July -- from 9pm to 11pm Eastern time, I'll be doing a radiothon on Passionate Internet Voices Radio to promote ALL volumes in the Coming Together series.

You're cordially invited to participate!

You can listen live via the site: http://stream.netro.ca/passvoices

... join in via the chatroom: http://pub44.bravenet.com/chat/show.php/3762372901

... or if you want to call in to be interviewed, let me know so I can make sure you have the conferencing number passcode.

Recorded excerpts are very welcome -- but I need them no later than noon tomorrow.
