I have asked about 6 different Editor's if they would kindly take a look at my recent foray. Unfortunately all of them turned me down and so I am on the look for an editor.

If you are interested drop me a line here or PM me and let me know what you will won't proof. I ask this as if you like the story maybe you could proof others. (I currently have three in "the can" so to speak).

Thanks!

Just a tip, you get better results when you list the genre, length, and what you are expecting from an editor.

I'm on a hiatus from editing due to finals week. Sorry, this wasn't an offer.

My interest varies as much as my stories. That was the reason why I left it open ended. I had initially figured that if I allowed the editor to tell me what they liked I could chose which story to send. As for my stories - they are anything between incest and mature and even anal. The one that I have been working on in my head lately is about a loving wife. The stories (written in MS Word) are between 3-6 pages.

I hope this helps.

you could try approaching a writer whose work you like and is well written and see if they are editors. I did that with mine. His stuff is much much more... lets say straightforward than mine so in terms of genre we don't really match too well but he's a great editor.

What would be really cool is a a list of people on lit who are in the editor programme so you could just cross reference. It was great that I lucked out on someone who was not only willing to edit but was also really good at it.

That worked for me too, and with the same experience. :rose:

The key points for an editor seem to be how many words, what genre, and what help you would like. Are you just looking for help with spelling and grammar, or do you also want help with story development? If you have more than one story ready now, I would suggest listing the information for all of them.

I haven't...

I haven't been on here much, but I love to edit things. Feel free to PM me, if you're interested.
