not, "inventory rationing"...SALES, rationing.
...supposedly 4 bags per sale at WM, and 1(count it, ONE) bag per sale at Cosco...

did anyone else see that little snippet blip across the news yesterday?

...I have it on good authority from friends in Hawaii that they've started that there already...

...anyone besides me a smidge concerned?

Not so much concerned as just curious. Rice, right? Is there some sort of rice shortage or what the fuck is going on? I guess I'll consult BBC online and see.

From what I know at the costco I shop at, white and basmati rice sales are being limited. Rice is a commodity and the price is expected to be jumping (or already is) so many people are buying to stock up, and costco is simply making sure that thier shelves aren't wiped out. You can buy your typical amount. So If you're a restaraunt owner that buys from costco and you buy 10 bags every week, they'll let you buy that much, but you can't buy entire pallets. They want to make sure rice is available for every member.

...Mmm, *nods, sipping her coffee. Someone also said Butter isnt available in Japan...

...now, not that im so concerned with the availability of toast condiments in other countries... but, ...to a super-spoiled, product laden society/culture like ours (America), shouldn't this be sending ripples of more than blase' complacency?

...I mean, think about it. Big money grubbing coorporations who dont care one whit for your existance other than to squeeze the money, every last cent, out of you...are saying, "Uh, no- you can't buy that many." *hand gesture*...doesn't this strike anyone else as, concerning?

...I live in the Midwest...the "breadbasket" of America,...in case you haven't been following the news...we are under about 4 feet of water, due to flooding and storms,...and have been almost all of 08. (well, after the ice storms)

...the corn, and wheat, and other crops you can drive and see literally MILES of growing here?--are now some pretty good fishing spots.

...this issue (the crop damage, the sales rationing, the economic recoil because of it all) isnt going to just ease out quietly and resolve itself all sweet like, one nice neat little package with a bow at the end of the show,...imo...

Hey, we're fucked... what else is new?

It all starts with the crude. Food prices have really gone up in the last five years, along with everything else. Products need to be transported. Trucks need gas. Etc., etc...

Thanks Bush & Co.!

*sweet,...diplomatic propaganda...*Smiles~...and so eloquently stated, too.
(please dont take offense, it's not directed personally...*curtsey)

...has anyone else been noticing the "blank spots" on WM, Cosco, and Sam's (etc.) shelves?...is it just me?...just here?

...Got some lines about trucks, gas, and the like....also ones about recalls.

...there seem to be LOTS of recalls and truck/gas situations lately.

I wonder what wheat and corn are going to be like soon with all the crop failures (due to flooding, freak freezes, etc.)

...any thoughts?

...oh i think this started way back with pants dropping Clinton

(*service agent..."Uh, Mr. President? X Y Z.")

Food prices are going to continue to shoot up. No mystery there. What else do you want to know?

Is it going to be the end of times? Probably not. Consult Nostradamus.

Nah (*nostradomus thing)...Not so into guys who got off on rubbing up skulls...

Well, here's what i think; ...maybe we should be paying more attention to things than in/with blase' complacency. I think things are going to get tougher(maybe alot tougher) -just my opinion.

What do i want to know?...Do you think things are going to get tougher? What do you see things (gas prices, food prices, stores, sales rationing, etc.) doing in a year? --or even closer,--this summer? I want to know what you think, or I wouldnt have asked.-doesnt mean we will agree,...but it means you and i have a voice and are using it. *s* (even if in an illogical placement...(Lit.)(lol)

Varying opinions are good things...*s*
(think how boring it would be if we all agreed...)

Are you drunk?

Really? How so?

Are you saying that because Clinton got a BJ from Monica gas prices went up?

*pondering wording...(there is no nice way to say this, so...)

No, I'm saying Clinton and his administration was an utter fiasco and that he made this country and it's presidency a laughing stock before the entire world; that he was much more interested in getting blow jobs, his popularity ratings and "socializing" this nation and gutting the military and our ability to defend our shores than he was in what was good for the country. That, and because he couldn't keep it in his pants, he decided to argue to definition of "is" instead of having a backbone to back up where his cock went...

in short, a whiney, yellow, power-intoxicated prick.

I thought Sam's club WAS rationing and Walmart was NOT.

Doesn't affect me one way or the other.

Who would shop at anti-american stores like wal-mart and sam's club anyways?

ah. good question. Not much can be done to them in my opinion; I learned that when Wal-Mart's big "imminent domain" thing hit in our area (the took over a house and surrounding land to build another store...big stink here. )

I wish i had a better answer on that one. A few boycotters,...even thousands, aren't even going to make a ripple big enough to be felt or seen by them.

Are you drunk?

Who knows? But she's certainly dilusional (see quote below)!
