Extreme Clouds

I love clouds. My studio has a window that faces north. In a good summer the thunderheads build up over the mountains and I get some spectacular displays. They are the hardest things to paint I know of. People are relatively easy but clouds are complete Hell. Y'gotta love'em.

Oh, hey Cloudy :)

I love Clouds, they make for interesting photos. I don't think any of the ones I've taken could be called extreme, though. Your clouds mean business :D

I love storms - had to be forcibly restrained from running out and dancing in them when I was a child.

Still have the urge. :D

come visit sometime - I swear, no place puts on storms like the southeast. I'm talking rattling the windows and smelling the ozone. :D

:D Now that would be something, I'm sure. I'm sure our Brit storms are quite dainty in comparison!

I live out in the country, on the highest point for miles around. The big trees are mostly on the north side, so the view is excellent. My front porch overlooks the meadow. It's a great place for storms.

I adore storms, but my sinuses and head hate them - pressure headaches and nosebleeds when a storm is coming *laughs*

In my very early days when I 'thought' I was an artist, I discovered a small truism, (I think)

"You cannot draw a wrong looking cloud."

well, that depends on what type of cloud you're drawing, doesn't it? ;)

Chuckles...somewhere along the line, Cloudy, I had a wife or a mistress that you remind me of....argued with every word I uttered.

:rose:

ami...;)

I shoulda gone to law school like my father wanted me to. ;)

I remember one that we drove through all the way from L.A. to Phoenix. All the way!! Lightning surrounded us the entire trip. I've never seen so many accidents, several of them fatal, in one three-day span in my life. I hope I never do again.

But it was a great storm!

Here's one that I took a couple years back. This was in the high mountains of New Mexico, outside of Los Alamos.. A massive storm to be sure.
