There was a collection of short stories by Truman Capote I used to have, there was one story in it called master misery about a pawn broker who bought desprate peoples dreams I cant remember the name of the book but i wouldn't mind getting my hands on that book again.

I just finished "Mirror, Mirror" by Gregory Maguire. I'm looking for something new by him, as I positively devour his work.

I think I may pick up my old volume of Poe's work, and get back into that. I have a deep appreciation for his work.

I have a recommendation for you, based on this post-

it's called Dream Weaver, by Jane Yolen.

It's a collection of short tales, written within the framework of a blind woman, a beggar, who waves pieces of cloth as she tells her stories- she spins her yarns, both figuratively and literally... and the stories are absolutely beautiful. They're very fairy-tale-ish, but have unabashed truth in them.

I remember reading it when I was a child- I'd checked it out from the library, and loved it... and then couldn't find it... I spent 10 years looking for it, and finally my sweetie found it.

I found another copy a while ago, and mailed it to someone I love... I think it is one of the deepest gifts I could give someone.

I'm reading a book about the Amish..I can't remember the title though.

Is it by any chance Plain Truth? By the same woman who wrote My Sister's Keeper? I read that a few years ago.

TO be on topic, I'm reading Dante's Paradiso (class), Milton's Paradise Lost (class again), and Best New American Voices (Pleasure)

Just finished "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath again and am now reading "Second Sex" by Simone De Beauvoir for the second time.

Recently its hard to pick up books i haven't already read for some reason although i did just finish "Thousand Splendid Suns" and it was great.

In no particular order, Homburg's links and bank statements. I should get back into reading before bed. Maybe I'll do that now.

I just finished the BDSM Book of the Month for April!

Now I'm reading Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich. Later tonight I'll probably crack open something else.

:D

I'm sloooooooooooowly reading The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have barely any time to read anything thats not for school, and its incredibly dense, so I've been reading it since christmas. About halfway through now, if I remember correctly.

I read that, only to realize I may as well not have. That book is harder to understand then fluid dynamics... I kid you not.

I'm understanding it. It took me a while to get all the names down, but now that I know who everyone is I'm really enjoying it. The stories explain a lot of the unexplained in the LOTR trilogy, and being a pretty devoted LOTR geek, I'm really digging it.

I'm re-reading "God Knows" by Heller and "Pig Earth" by John Berger in little five minute bits before bed depending on whether I feel like comedy or French peasant life.

i just finished Dark Garden and The Darker Side of Pleasure for the second time. both by Eden Bradley, they're both very good.
i also like Gillian Bradshaw, but i'm a bit of a history nut.
i'm reading My Secret life by anonamous.
its very good.

*blushes* I'm rereading 'Obsidian Butterfly' by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Though I do maintain that the series didn't go bad until the introduction of the ardeur, it's still kinda embarrassing, since I don't usually speak too highly of the series.

I just begin to re-reading "The clan of the cave bear" from Jean Marie Auel...
will be my 6th!

And as always, I will read all the sage! :D
