Another feedback offer

So Torg's idea to generate more feedback got me thinking. A lot of my stories aren't as popular or widely read as I would like, and I want to try and work out if it's something I'm doing wrong and if there's something I could be doing better, and I thought what better way than through feedback? :)

So, here's my offer, and it's up to you if you want to accept. If you give me feedback on any of my stories then I will return the favour in kind. I guess that this has 2 benefits for you: first, you get more feedback, which is great; second, I start to read your stories in-depth and really think about them, which makes me more inclined to add to your stories (and I'm feeling pretty motivated to write at the moment) :D

So that's it! I'm kinda hoping that this little enterprise will also encourage CHYOOsters to leave more feedback, as I think that it's a useful and underused tool.

Oh, and a couple of final things, sorry to Torg if I'm stealing your thunder, and don't forget to leave your usernames on feedback, or I won't know whose stories to read & rate to return the favour.

Not at all. The more the merrier.

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes ones stories more popular, since feedback puts the story back on the top of the Fresh Story list. Fresh stories are more likely to be read on a whim by the casual user. Historically, stories that are freshened often during the month, either through new threads or feedback are consistently in the top 20.

Yes, through a constant trickle of new threads, I've seen stories of mine get around 2000 views, when they would otherwise get just 4-500 during a slow month.
And right now, 4 out of the ten front stories are gizmoo's

Really? Cool! This honestly wasn't a sneaky plan to get my stories into the freshest stories list, but I'm pleased!

I sometimes wonder if I'm at a disadvantage by geography here. Because I'm in the UK, I do a lot of my CHYOOing while all you folks across the pond are in bed. So quite often I add to threads or post on Literotica, only to have to wait until the next day for the rest of CHYOO to wake up, read what I've written and respond.

The problem with this is that if my stories make it to the freshest stories list, then they are soon superseded by either non-english stories from people in mainland Europe who are writing at the same time as me, or by by everyone in North America as they wake up! :)

Maybe I should move to a different time zone...

Oh, and thank you for the feedback, Torg & Gunde, I will repay the favour later today.

And I've just received my first bit of feedback from Gizmo.
Thanks for picking something which I haven't even looked at for a year or so, makes for some chilling reading on my part, and the urge to improve it.

You're welcome. I gave feedback on 2 threads, but one was at the end of a string of threads and I don't know if the dysfunctional CHYOO accepted it. Have you received feedback from this thread?

Oh and by the way, thanks for introducing me to Druuna!

Yes, feedback received and much appreciated.
You're welcome! And thanks for making me read The Surprise, hopefully I can get the time to add to that in a while (sadly not that soon though).

Edit: Heck, now you've made me add another thread to Druuna, the first one in well over a year.

And the feedback which you've given in return has caused me to rewrite to old threads. Thanks!
How much feedback have you received so far? It's interesting to hear about what the turnout is for you and Torg.

Regarding the problem of living in Europe, I'm one hour ahead of you even! :D
And a pretty big part of the regular contributors to both Chyoo and this forum are european and writes in english, so I don't think that we europeans have it that bad.
Still, someone with a lot of time on their hands could track down the nationalities of the writers on the monthly top-twenty, and see if those boys and girls on the other side of the pond have us trashed on a regular basis...

Hey, I'm not doing too bad, 14 bits of feedback, mainly from you, Gunde. For everyone's feedback, I'm taking any parts to work on and actually working on them. I'm working my way through your Druuna story at the moment, Gunde, and I'm gonna give feedback on the whole thing, in the same way as you are working through The Surprise. I must say, I'm really getting into the story, which is unusual as I don't normally enjoy Sci-Fi erotica as much. I like the cyberpunk aspect of it.

I also owe feedback to Torg and to switch76 who has very kindly PM'd me.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys! Keep it coming!

You have indeed. It's quit frustrating that when you leave feedback on a thread at the end of a string it doesn't give you any confirmation that the feedback has been left.

Hmm, I've never had that happen. Giving feedback to the first thread of a story does but me back on the title page, with no red text, but other than that it's always worked like it should.

It does the same thing if you comment on the last thread and then hit "Start Over". The solution to the last thread problem is to hit "Previous Thread".

Aha! I usually hit enter in the feedback field, which brings me back to the previous thread.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Two more CHYOOsters have taken on the challenge. I now also owe feedback to Carrot74 and remfan55.

If you're waiting for feedback returned from me, then please be patient. I'm going as fast as I can but sometimes life gets in the way! I promise I will get round to everyone in good time.
