My Fair Lady

So went to this on Saturday night. My first time at that particular theater (Ahmanson theater in LA). Sound quality wasn't superb to me, but the play was pretty good. There were a couple surprises. First there was some Stomp action during Mr Dolittle's first number. The second was what can only be described as man-prancing doing Eliza's trial run. It seemed like they wanted the men to be acting like the horses...very entertaining to say the least. I have now made 'man-prancing' my phrase of the week and intend to use it frequently!

hmm... have seen Stomp too... not sure how edgy this performance was... but the one I saw wouldn't have worked to well with the "feel good" atmosphere of My Fair Lady that I saw.

So, did you end up finding someone to go with you, or did you meet anyone interesting there? Someone who sat beside you or whom you met at intermission... come on, there had to be something promising about the evening, right?

No such luck. It was my best friend, her hubby, and her father. Still had a good time, but since her hubby is a tool, I am generally the holding her purse and such for her. Makes it more difficult to approach someone, but I think the theater would be a great place to meet someone interesting. Maybe next time (and I WILL ask out the redhead at Starbucks, dammit!)

thanks for the link... will watch it next. Might want to rethink the "holding her purse and shuch for her." Says "married" to any girls who might have been interested. I would think holding a purse would make it a lil more difficult to approach someone. lol They might think it a lil bit odd, too.

Almost forgot to add!! Mrs. Higgins is played by Marni Nixon (who sang Audry's parts in the movie). I didn't know this until today, so was wondering why she always got just loud applause.

...which is why she is Mrs. Higgins and not Eliza.
