Okay... Like a great many of my threads, this one starts with the phrase "Gracie and I were goofing around in Yahoo" and we got talking books. (As we do quite often... What GEEKS!) Little Women and Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott came up and we started matching people we know to characters in the books...

So we want to know, if you were a character in one of those books, who do you think you would be? (I'm sticking with the main characters, btw, we don't have room for all of them in the poll options.)

By the way, this is a visible poll... We can see how you voted....

I'd like to be the guy who plays the guitar and hooks up with Winona Ryder. Wasn't that in the novel, names and instrument changed of course?

Jo. All the way. I'm not particularly outgoing, but everything else about her character--independent, strong, a love for writing, marching to the beat of her own drum--just fit. I knew that the first time I read the book at, like, 7 or so. ;)

I have verified this with my local expert (I never saw the second movie, actually. I like the original b&w one) and she's identified you as... Professer Baer. (Who I think might have an H in his name that I've misplaced...)

Bhaer.

I'm Meg. LOL

I knew it.

I'm Jo, with a hint of Meg.

The passion for writing, the cutting off my long hair, bold choices...

Here is a complete list of characters and a small bio on each.

I, personally, am Margaret. :p

I liked "A Long Fatal Love Chase" too, but not enough people have read that one to poll for characterness....

I resent all of them. Mostly because Jo and I are very alike, and it makes me sad.

I used to identify with Jo & Meg

Now, I'm more a cross between Marmee and Aunt March, but cuter.

Considering I read this YONKS ago, Jo was always my favorite. :D Did she ever get that 'living in society' thing down

Oh, c'mon. Not EVERYONE can be Jo.

AHEM! I can be Jo if I wanna be for three reasons...

1) It's my poll/thread.

2) I have independant confirmation of my Jo-ness (albeit from a cookie addict in Yahoo but confirmation nonetheless).

3) Because I don't have Meg's patience or Beth's sweetness (hello? Little Miss Prickly Post here...) or Amy's well, whatever Amy has, I don't have it....

Alternate 3) because I just broke my little baby toe this afternoon and darnit! That means y'all have to be nice to me or I'll make you look at my rainbow colored tootsie. It's like, really grody looking.
