The adventures of Beatrice the Bonking Bunny (and friends)

It is high time I got this thread started, especially as Beatrice has already been seen in at least 2 if not 3 different threads.

I have to start by thanking GA for the idea and for being too lazy himself to go through with it. His "Captain Goodvibes" has become my Bonking Bunny.

I must also thank OneLustyWench for allowing her Naughty Beaver to be Bea's travelling companion and at the present moment a welcome guest in our house.

So here she is....

We had a little vote in the UK Online Directory to come up with her name and Beatrice was the clear winner.

The idea behind her is that she will travel the world from Lit poster to Lit poster. We are hoping she will never need to be "shipped" alone from one place to another but will always have a travelling companion/s. While travelling she is expected to see the local "attractions" and have some fun so we can all live vacariously through her adventures

Just tell me Mark has yet to molest her :D [sorry Mark couldn't resist]

Oh dear Jag, you are in BIG trouble for that one :D :D :D

Okay, the story of Bea really begins here.

Friday March 28th. I could say we were up at the crack of dawn but that would be a lie as we never actually went to bed  Late leaving as usual and the M1 was a nightmare so we were rushing like mad things by the time we got to Heathrow. We made it and headed to the departure lounge. For some reason Heathrow has a rule about no cameras so we could not take a pic of Bea there as we had hoped. Once we were in the air there were no such restrictions so Bea was able to come out of the overhead locker and have her pic taken :D

As you can see from the last pic she is a naughty girl, she was seated but not wearing her seat belt *tut tut*

Friday March 28th - part 2

After a smooth and easy flight over we arrived at O'Hare and for the first time Bea and I were separated :( She went off with Mark and Yes to the hotel and I stayed at O'Hare to have a drink with my darling dave_L2LP. The separation was painful but Dave looked after me :D

Once I went on to the hotel the first job of course was to photograph Bea in our bedroom. She liked the bed, it was definately big enough for 3 or 4 never mind 2.......

Next stop, well of course that was the "Meet & Greet" in the party room. It was lovely to meet so many people and finally Bea was able to meet her new best friend Naughty Beaver :D However, she is a fickle little bunny and before she "settled down" with Beaver she had to earn her beads. She told me she was only doing it to earn her beads as she could not earn them the way we "humans" did but personally I think she was just looking for an excuse, mind you, I didn't hear bunny slipper complaining either...........

Great Idea....

I'm glad Beatrice won... was the best name by miles. :p :D

Too cute and funny Blue! Can't wait to hear more about Beatrice's travels! :D

The remainder of the Lit-together.

Well most of the "action" was Friday night at the party. Many of us were too knackered from travel/late nights etc to do too much on the Saturday and Bea was just the same, in fact I can't remember her even getting "out of bed". :D

In the day some people went shopping "downtown", some lazed around nattering, listening to S-Des play guitar, went out for lunch/early dinner etc. A few more local "Litsters" popped in to say hi, some in the afternoon, some in the evening. By then most people gathered together again in a couple of rooms for more chat, more drinking (mainly alcoholic this time), technical instruction and general relacarion and fun.

Sunday morning and it was time for the majority of people to check out and head off home. About 14 of us went "over the road" to Chilies Restaurant and had a lovely lunch. We should have taken Bea & Beaver with us but we had already checked out and so our cases and bags etc were all in Mansome's room as he was not checking out until the Monday.

The pics below are a random selection showing the hotel, Chilies and some of the party pics. (Apologies for the quality of some, they come from various sources).

Sunday 30th (afternoon and evening).

We left Bea and Beaver at the hotel while we took the shuttle back to O'Hare to go and pick up our hire car/rental. Mark had the pleasure of driving us back to the hotel and I think B&B were lucky to miss it

Our next journey was to go and stay with Pleaz in central Illinois, in a town not a million miles away from Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie's "real home"!!! We were accompanied on the first part of the journey by Sweetwitch (SW), to save her from a fate worse than death otherwise known as Amtrak!!! It seemed to everyone like a good idea that Sweetwitch drove for a while. As an American she is used to driving on the wrong side of the road and to their Interstates etc. It would also give Mark and I a better chance to get used to seeing US signs, junction layouts etc.

OMG B&B would have been better off having their first road trip together in the US with Mark or I driving. SW, Interstates and especially toll stations are NOT an experience I want to repeat in a hurry. I love her to bits but she is a psycho behind the wheel and the petrol/gas we got through on that leg compared to the rest of the trip was staggering. Mind you, keeping up with Pleaz is not an economical way of driving at any time!! Luckily no one, B&B included suffered motion sickness, maybe just a few grey hairs at SW's right angle turns!!! (we love you hun. Have you been saved????)

Mark took over the driving from part way with SW as guide and mentor  After we dropped her off we continued to Pleaz's, unpacked the two cars and basically crashed!!

Pictures from the trip and the evening..........you have to be kidding, we were all too fucking knackered!!!!

Oh, ye, of the faint heart! (translated: wuss). Gray hairs... What do you think they make hair dye for? And when it was all said and done, you survived the journey with a story to tell. :D

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Jesus loves you!

Lucky is an understatement! :D Poor Mark was so red and flustered I actually felt bad for him!

You know I'm laughing so hard I'm crying over this one ... I watched ya'll in the rearview! :D

Furthermore ... I may have a heavy foot, but I have never caused an accident thank you very much! :p

Did we even make it to the beds? I vaguely remember unpacking, chowing on delivered food and ... nope, that's it.

Watch who you are calling wuss, shortie!! :D :D

Yes we all survived, yes we have a story to tell our grandkids (not too soon I hope) and yes we enjoyed it.

Jesus loves you!

I know but we shouldn't laugh. We were commenting the following Saturday as we took the car back how quickly we had got used to driving in the US and how funny it was to think how petrified we had both been just a week before.

OMG, you drove all that way just watching us in the rearview and laughing??? It is a wonder you didn't have an accident that day lol

Well our bed had already been "pumped" up so all we had to do was throw a sheet and a comforter on it. I think you crawled to yours, switched the TV on and then fell asleep. Goodness only knows if you got undressed or fell asleep in your clothes lol
