Warning: there are a lot of plugs in this post.

This came up in the ATL littogether thread, but I didn't want to get too into it there for the sake of not hijacking. However, I had to cancel my plans because of a very special opportunity presented to me the same weekend.

A little background first. A few years ago I modeled for a t-shirt company here in Miami. At the time I was kinda new to the BDSM scene, but I had the idea to make t-shirts with bdsm themes on it and did so with the help of RJMasters. Less than a year ago, I incorporated and launched my website Marquis DeSigns

I've had limited success so far, but I have a day job and haven't had as much time to work on marketing and promotions as I'd like.

Anyway, sort of at the same time as this, I got the opportunity to write for an online sex magazine, LittleFetish. The editor who brought me in split soon after that and she is starting a new online magazine of her own, TruFetish, to be focused more on BDSM/fetish than vanilla sex. She has asked me to be a staff writer. I love to write about BDSM and would love to do more BDSM writing in the future, so I gladly accepted.

Now, she is friends with this guy who started making a coffee table book of some of the best erotic art in the international scene and he asked her to be a part of the Miami edition of his international launch party, Art Undressed

She, in turn, asked me to come up with a scene to perform. I was extremely hesitant at first, because although I have played at parties before, this is way way above and beyond anything I've ever done. She and other friends of mine in the community were very supportive however and encouraged me to come up with something. I think I had like two days to get a pitch together.

I wanted to do something, original, sexy and artistic. I brainstormed and eventually wrote up the following proposal:

Jeanne’s Gift

Jeanne’s Gift is an erotic performance designed specifically for Art Undressed. It is presented by Marquis, a lifestyle fetishist and Venusian Artist, with the assistance of his two beautiful partners. It offers the audience a remarkably intimate look into this unique relationship, giving a visual illustration of BDSM and polyamory in an elegant and avant-garde fashion. Named after Jeanne d'Arc, it evokes in the audience the eroticism of self-sacrifice.

Jeanne’s Gift begins with wrapping the subject from head to toe in brightly colored plastics, mummifying her completely. Unlike traditional forms of bondage, even the slightest of movements becomes impossible in this position, creating an incredibly powerful bond between the submissive and dominant that will be palpable for the audience. Marquis and assistant will then begin carefully cutting out circles in the wrap with a scalpel, simulating the removing of a second skin and slowly exposing choice pieces of her nude body.

The unveiling is then enhanced by the use of fire cupping, an ancient practice which uses heat to create circular points of suction on the subject’s body. This creates an incredible duality, as the protection and restriction of the mummification is juxtaposed with the stark exposure of the flesh being pulled from her body, seen through the perfect clarity of the clear cups.

But sex and art is not something only to be seen and admired. What makes Jeanne’s Gift truly revolutionary is that each cup will be attached to a cord which will be given to a member of the audience. They will be encouraged to tug lightly, and observe the effect they have on the subject. As the audience becomes a part of the performance, the energy in the room will be electrifying. The crescendo occurs when Marquis asks the audience to pull all the cups off in unison. The subject experiences an indescribable sensation as all the pressure points are released at once and the cups fall safely to the padded ground.

Jeanne’s Gift presents the audience a memorably visceral experience, a visual and tactile embodiment of the tension and release inherent in all sexuality.

It was not only accepted, but we've been asked to perform on both nights. This is a great opportunity for me to get my name out there more and promote my writing and my fashion line.

But more importantly, it's a chance for me to share with the world my passion for the art of BDSM and the two women who have come to support me in everything I do.

You can check the last page of my pic thread for rehearsal pics.

That is a GREAT concept, Marquis! Simply awesome!

One request: Videotape at least one of the performances, and share it with us? Please?

I would love to!

At the very least I can promise it will be photographed.

Video would be awesome, I'll work on it.

As a mummification and fireplay aficianado all I can say is:

SMOKIN'!!!

Thanks EG, that means A LOT coming from you.

If you have any tips, I NEED to hear them.

I'm basically pulling this stuff out of my ass!!!

I'm floored by all of this.
we saw it coming, Youre about to do awesome things.
(You're awesome.)

Congratulations on the great opportunity. I can't wait to read your recap and see the images. Better yet...is this an open launch party or invitation only? That weekend re-opened for me and if it's an open party I just might make that 2 hour trek. It definitely sounds like it would be worth escaping Cape Coma for.

*When are you going to write another story for your thread?*

Think this is an amazing idea and that the performance will be incredible on both of the nights.

I have always had a fear of wrap like this and total immobility. Is the subject able to communicate or safeword? Although the mouth and nose are exposed there doesn't seem to be much scope for movement. Just asking as I would one day like to face this fear and no nobody personally with this kind of experience.

Will there be marks left from the first night or are you going to switch your subbies around?

It's an open party and tickets are sold on the site!

It would be unbelievable if someone from lit was there.

The subject is able to communicate but will be kept silent for the most part. I will be checking in with her to see that everything is ok, a few mumbles should do fine. I'm sure there will be some moaning and groaning, which the audience should appreciate.

Cupping tends to leave bruises and it is extremely difficult to cut out the circles without scratching the skin a little bit. I will be switching subbies around to work with a fresh canvas each night.

Awesome plan Marquis. I had a quick squiz at the pics, which are way cool, but they reminded me just how much that stuff makes me itch and swell for days/weeks to follow and I sweat I could feel an itch or two starting! I envy C her ability to be wrapped thus.:)

Just a quick note to say that I really liked the Marquis DeSigns site. It's attractive, persuasive, and honest. I especially liked the manifesto on the Info page. The shirts look great, too.

Good luck with your demo and the other projects you described in the OP.

Sweet! This sounds like a great even. Big bonus I can meet you and the girls. Are you going to be at the Soho Studios? Have you been to the ball before? Is it worth sticking around for?

So do I!

I couldn't do it!

Thanks MWY!

It's always great to hear positive feedback.

Well any feedback is good, but positive feedback is especially nice.

I will be at the Soho Studios, I was there checking out the location tonight in fact. They're doing some stuff there for Miami Fashion week and I got to watch a fashion show while I discussed the layout with the host/promoter.

This is the first year they're doing this, so I really can't say what it will be like. The guy throwing this also throws the Miami Skin parties which are very fun and very sexy, so I'm counting on it being a good time.

I'll know more as the date approaches, but it would be great to meet you regardless.

I'm planning on making the trip at least for one day-probably Saturday. You'll have at least one Lit rep there, hopefully more will decide to go. I can't wait, this should be a great place for a newbie to be exposed to lots of new things!

It would be great meeting you and I definitely think you'll enjoy yourself.

Send me a pm when you're ready to get your ticket.

Sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun! I wish that I could show up for these things.
