Yeah, Kansas earned it by forcing Memphis to rely on free throws. Heartbreaking, in the sports ind of way.

I disagree about UNC, though. They came out flat and Kansas came out pumped and with big heart. UNC came back from 28 down to get within four - that's impressive. I think Kansas wanted it more.

I do agree about Davidson, would have been fun to see them get to the finals.

I wasn’t turning on the Heels, Jomar, I was trying to make a sarcastic point. Saying that any team is a fraud, especially UNC, shows a lack of knowledge of athletics in general let alone specifics of basketball and the Tar Heels.

Carolina only lost 3 games this year. They didn’t rank themselves #1. They were ranked #1 by sports writers, coaches, and even the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. Maybe S-Des knows more than they, I don’t know but I have my opinion of that too and mine is based on a lifetime of athletic involvement including playing and coaching basketball competitively.

Every game Carolina lost was either without point guard Ty Lawson or else he was playing hurt. Saturday he was playing with an injured hip and was running at about half speed. That was not mentioned by UNC because class teams accept defeat without making excuses.

Also note that Roy Williams wore a Kansas Jayhawk sticker at the game last night.

As to Memphis blowing the game, I would point out that Kansas didn’t give up when down, created some opportunities, and then took advantage of what was presented. I think they should be given credit for what they did.

Honest, clean programs such as Carolina’s are never frauds and anyone who thinks differently should maybe take a close look in the mirror.

We had qualms about UNC, what with our past history with coach Roy.

But - those ghosts have finally been laid to rest.

The best I ever did was 2 years ago when I hadn't watched a single game and had barely followed the season at all. Except for George Mason, Bradley and Wichita making deep runs, I had the entire tournament well-picked, including Florida as the champion.

It's amazing how that works.
