Well I have had a good day today :D

I was looking through a book I bought from a second hand shop a few months ago. It's a big hard cover one, and I was just flicking through it (haven't read it yet) when, a few pages before the end, it flipped open and there were 4 - count 'em, 4 - $50 notes slipped between the pages

Someone obviously forgot they put them there and gave the book away, or maybe it's from a deceased estate. Anyway I am now $200 better off than I was when I woke up this morning, and have booked myself in for an hour long massage (cost $50) on Friday afternoon! :D

Woo hoo :nana::nana::nana::nana:

Way to go Bandit...sounds like you had a great day :)

Well, that's a nice win for you, Bandit - enjoy the treat!

As for me, well... I upgraded my licence yesterday (much easier than I thought it would be) and took my new friend out for a short run today.

There are a few minor niggles (and one major niggle), but on the whole I think I like it. I especially like the rumbling roar when I open the throttle *damn, where's the drool smiley?*

Now I just need to find the money to pay for some upgrades (a windscreen and larger fuel tank at the top of the list)...

Good to see you out on the new bike mate

I certainly wasnt feeling all cosy - my bum was getting wet! :(

Besides that, that man talks too much.

Wet bum and man who talks to much....yep I hear wedding bells

Although you could go as Native Americans.

Wet Bum and Man Who Talks Too Much were out in the forest when they came across a river. Well actually you don't just come across a river. You can usually hear the fucking thing before you see it. Kind of like coming across an airport.

Wet Bum said to Man Who Talks Too Much..."carry me across"

Man Who Talks Too Much said ...."you've already got a wet ass, so what's the problem"

Wet Bum said..."smart ass"

Man Who Talks Too Much said..."Ok it's wet and it's clever, now can we get across the fucking river we're going to be late for our flight and we haven't come across the airport yet"

OOOoo! Nice bike. Just another fun thing my Dad has made me promise I'd never do.

Hello all! Good to see so many people about!

I had our scrapbooking group today. The woman who runs it really pushed my buttons today - lectured me about the fact that I don't buy name brands. She was then very pushy about me buying more of her products. I've already spent about $500 in 6 months! It's not that I can't afford it (well, that is part of it) but I'm there for FUN, not to keep her business going. I'm not sure if I'll keep going to the class if she continues like that. It was horrible.

I hope everyone is well and happy
G'night
:rose:

It must be the pills but I'm not getting how going to a scrap book group ends with a turf war on buying name brands. I remember scrap books to be about bits of papery things and such you wanted to keep for memories. Go all Andy Warhol on her and bring in lots of cans of Campbells soup and a huge bottle of clagg.

Yeah, she's a yuppie-wanna be. I was very polite and didn't put her in her place....like I could have so very easily.

It was a weird day for me today. I'm feeling a bit insecure about so many things - but then I think life is so fantasticly wonderful at the same time. Maybe I just need a decent nights sleep!?

I hope everyone is well

Yep I reckon you should have gone for it. It feels good trust me, I've done that a number of times to those types of people.

What you need is a big hug and soak in a hot bath and possibly a massage. I can't do anything about the hot bath, but hugs are something I do well, or so I'm told. I've wondered why there isn't a hug smiley on here. So in replacement..a BIG HUGGGG (squeezing all the places that need squeezing)
Hope that helps although the in-person version is much more effective. I have a friend in Sydney who initially said goodbye to me one day and I gave her a hug and she left to go her own way...a few seconds later she came running back for another hug, I had to laugh at that. So hugs do work.

Evening all,

Yes Melbourne is still here and hasn't been blown away by the rather strong winds. I was home today and felt the house shake for a few seconds, but everything seems to be still stuck on. I survived a roof blowing a couple of years ago, so I've been through much worse. Driving on the roads earlier in the day was interesting. Not only trying to keep the car in the lane but also dodging tree branches and other loose objects flying past the car was interesting. Now we are mainly getting the rain. Like we need the rain, but who the hell asked for all this windy stuff. There must be a beans factory over the border.

Went to the dietiton for visit number two. I've mentioned this before but it really feels like I'm walking into the local potion merchant. I keep walking out with more health stuff. I'm eating more now than when I was considered in a category needing help. It takes me longer to shop for groceries cause of all the things you need to read on the labels, but here is the thing, I'm spending longer shopping but buying less. If this keeps up my femine side will start developing.

M - "You spent five hours shopping dear what did you buy"
F - "Nothing I couldn't find anything I liked"
M - "So it took you five hours to work out you weren't going to buy anything"
F - "No it took me five hours to research and do market analysis"

I've leant one thing. If you need pills go to a doctor, if you want potions go to a dietition. Don't go to a doctor if you have a pain in your body, they will only tell you to rest and take aspirin. Go to a physio. This may be common knowledge to others but since I've never had much to do with medical type people, it is a whole new world to me.

Yes it is me. I decided to pop back in every now and then - missed people too much.

Rasher was hurt at the speedway last night & ICR had little sleep as he wasn't released till 4 am this morning (not sure if it was the daylight saving time or post DLS time). He had x rays etc & no damage just a rotten hang over.

Get well soon Mate.

He is fine aside from a headache and a sore neck. It could have been a LOT worse and I thank god it wasn't. Hospital released him at about 4am which would now be 3am after scans on his head, neck, chest and pelvis came back ok.

Thanks Gil and Bandit for coming to the hospital.

Dang I could use a wonderful surprise like that! Congrats on the blessing and the good use of it. :)

Glad to hear he is doing ok. How are things going after your surgery?

Oh, KB, you gotta stir us up again?

Did you ever doubt why his thread is a cooking thread... all the stiring things up :D :D :D

Oh no you don't!

No you are supposed to say...I do....these liberated women just can't stick to the script. Besides I've already ordered the sharman...I tried to get a priest but they were all out of them..

Evening all,

OK who got caught with the daylight savings change over? Pick me pick me
Ah yes I did luckily it was a Sunday. I totally forgot and got dressed and was half way to my destination when I noticed that the traffic was less than normal. It took another five minutes for it to click that I was actually 1 hr early hence the lighter traffic in the city.

I'm happy that we have finally got rid of the silly thing, however I believe the longer time frame is here to stay. If this keeps up we'll be like the Scandinavian countries that have months of darkness. We'll have to use up more green house energy going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.
