It's a good thing that I don't have abandonment issues...boss 3 confirmed that he got another job today.
That's 3 out of 3 bosses all LEAVE since I started my job in January. It makes me wonder...was it something I said??

I hope everyone is well and happy.

Pert you'll likely find that money was at the bottom of them leaving & not you. I had a job where they went through managers like sweets at a kids party.

Oh, I'm not upset - actually I'm happy for all of them! They've all gotten promotions and are going overseas. Expat $$, tax-free, a live-in maid, a driver, free medical, 9 weeks annual leave....the list goes on!

I may be afk a few weeks...having my internet/phone swapped over. Not sure when I'll be disconnected - or reconnected.

LMAO! :D

But you forgot the rest of the disclaimer:

"Individual results may vary, please use as part of a balanced diet, consult your health care professional before commencing any weight loss program"

I went to a health care professional recently and felt like I was at the local Witch Doctor. I was waiting for the ..."here take this ground potion of extinct dodo penis"..'No wonder the fucking things are extinct...if people keep grinding up their penises'....

Dinner in a shake now there is some fine cooking for ya. No need to work out what to make for dinner. Rather like the brain surgeon who came up with breakfast in an easy to drink pack. Then they say.."take these pills with your evening meal". What fucking meal, I'm drinking it. Gotta love these health professionals, communication with each other isn't their strong point.

I was sent for a scan. I had a shoulder that was rather painful. They scanned everything except my shoulder, go figure.

Then there is the classic line..."if you don't do this you are going to die". I got news for ya doc we are all going to die, it's just nice to know I have choices. Now that I have the death thing covered, I just have to figure out the taxes thing. I wonder if they have a potion for that?

hehehe, so true!

Keep up the good work, darkelf, you've got a fantastic attitude! :D

Back to work tomorrow. :( I've had such a lovely break I don't want it to end!

Hiya Pert,

Well you know you have two choices, either let things mess with your head or mess with the thing causing your headache. It is just interesting what assumptions were made about me by these health professionals it wasn't what I was expecting from the profession. Makes good fodder for stories though.

Kind of like the joke about you know that you're getting older when all your friends make conversation about their health as an opening line. You get to the point of being scared to ask how someone is doing. Waving and running off becomes a self presevation method.

Evening all,

Sometimes you just shouldn't wish for things. Well its raining alright in Melbourne, but there is nothing gentle about it. You know those days of being in bed listening to the sound of rain on the roof. Well we got nothing like that. It was more like the rain was trying to break through the roof. Makes a wonderful alarm clock for those who like to get up at 3am.

We got 50mm in the last two days, for the other days of March we got 16mm. What ever happened to the old fashioned rain? It's either flood or famine these days. Yes that's right it's global warming. I was going to leave the car at home and walk to the train station, but it was raining so hard I took the car, now what that global warming thing again...ah yes we should use our cars less...the rules must have been made up by those people that live in a desert. Never seen anyone ride a camel in the rain...yes that must be it. I wonder where I can get a camel?

Ugh there is no feeling quite like having a wet arse!
But on the upside, RB's camera and work stuff didn't get drenched. And being huddled under an umbrella next to RB will give the gossipers something new to talk about for the next week! Lol.

Was out near your place today - I waved! :D

I think you may need to check your definitions of 'fun' ;)

Well, another rotation down and another week closer to the G&G - and I got good news to go with the usual !@#$ at work... my leave for the 24-27th was approved!

So I'll definitely be there - and possibly with a new(ish) friend...

Evening? (looks outside) So it is... these shifts always screw up my time sense...

The new (ish) friend is a Honda GL500 - and it's newish because it's a 1980 grey import (just over 30000 k's). I just hope I can handle the weight when it's rolling (it's a heavy bugger!) Of course, I have to get my open licence first...

Hey Gorgeous

Things are doing well, Roz is going well on her motor Bike, I'm doing well and the boys are getting closer to physical extinction every day lol.

How's things going is Saturated Sydney

OOOoo! Nice bike. Just another fun thing my Dad has made me promise I'd never do.

Hello all! Good to see so many people about!

I had our scrapbooking group today. The woman who runs it really pushed my buttons today - lectured me about the fact that I don't buy name brands. She was then very pushy about me buying more of her products. I've already spent about $500 in 6 months! It's not that I can't afford it (well, that is part of it) but I'm there for FUN, not to keep her business going. I'm not sure if I'll keep going to the class if she continues like that. It was horrible.

I hope everyone is well and happy
G'night

Hi Perth ~ Your post about your promise to your Dad put a huge smile on my face. My Mother absolutely forbade any of us to EVER ride a motorcycle. And I never have I don't believe any of my brothers or even my Dad ever did. One time when we were all home for the holidays, all grown up now. One of my brothers was fussing about that "rule." And he pointed out that I purchased and flew an aerobatic airplane. Everyone looked at me and I replied with "Mom never said I couldn't!" :)

Daddy's Poem

Her hair was up in a pony tail,

Her favorite dress tied with a bow.

Today was Daddy's Day at school,

And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,

That she probably should stay home.

Why the kids might not understand,

If she went to school alone

But she was not afraid;

She knew just what to say.

What to tell her classmates

Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,

For her to face this day alone.

And that was why once again,

She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school

Eager to tell them all.

About a dad she never sees

A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,

For everyone to meet.

Children squirming impatiently,

Anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called

A student from the class.

To introduce their daddy,

As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,

Every child turned to stare.

Each of them was searching,

For a man who wasn't there.

'Where's her daddy at?'

She heard a boy call out.

'She probably doesn't have one,'

Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,

She heard a daddy say,

'Looks like another deadbeat dad,

Too busy to waste his day.'

The words did not offend her,

As she smiled up at her Mom.

And looked back at her teacher,

Who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,

Slowly she began to speak.

And out from the mouth of a child,

Came words incredibly unique.

'My Daddy couldn't be here,

Because he lives so far away.

But I know he wishes he could be,

Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,

I wanted you to know.

All about my daddy,

And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories

He taught me to ride my bike.

He surprised me with pink roses,

And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,

And ice cream in a cone.

And though you cannot see him.

I'm not standing here alone.

'Cause my daddy's always with me,

Even though we are apart

I know because he told me,

He'll forever be in my heart'.

With that, her little hand reached up,

And lay across her chest.

Feeling her own heartbeat,

Beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,

Her mother stood in tears.

Proudly watching her daughter,

Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love

Of a man not in her life.

Doing what was best for her,

Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,

Staring straight into the crowd.

She finished with a voice so soft,

But its message clear and loud.

I love my daddy very much,

he's my shining star.

And if he could, he'd be here,

But heaven's just too far.

You see he was a policeman

and died just this past year

When airplanes hit the towers

and taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,

it's like he never went away.'

And then she closed her eyes,

and saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,

she witnessed with surprise.

A room full of daddies and children,

all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,

who knows what they felt inside.

Perhaps for merely a second,

they saw him at her side.

'I know you're with me Daddy,'

to the silence she called out.

And what happened next made believers,

of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,

for each of their eyes had been closed.

But there on the desk beside her,

was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,

by the love of her shining star.

And given the gift of believing,

that heaven is never too far.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,

an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,

but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this to the people you'll never forget, and

remember to send it also to the person that sent

it to you. It's a short message to let them know

that you'll never forget them.

Take the time...to live and love!

Fuck ya, I'm leakin' now.

Oh and Hi from Oz.

Gotta go blow my damn nose. I have a 9 year old girl and even if that is the worst piece of glurge I have read in a while, it has brought me unstuck.

Well I have had a good day today :D

I was looking through a book I bought from a second hand shop a few months ago. It's a big hard cover one, and I was just flicking through it (haven't read it yet) when, a few pages before the end, it flipped open and there were 4 - count 'em, 4 - $50 notes slipped between the pages

Someone obviously forgot they put them there and gave the book away, or maybe it's from a deceased estate. Anyway I am now $200 better off than I was when I woke up this morning, and have booked myself in for an hour long massage (cost $50) on Friday afternoon! :D

Well, that's a nice win for you, Bandit - enjoy the treat!

As for me, well... I upgraded my licence yesterday (much easier than I thought it would be) and took my new friend out for a short run today.

There are a few minor niggles (and one major niggle), but on the whole I think I like it. I especially like the rumbling roar when I open the throttle *damn, where's the drool smiley?*

Now I just need to find the money to pay for some upgrades (a windscreen and larger fuel tank at the top of the list)...
