How long must PIV sex last to be satisfactory?

1-2 minutes
3-7 minutes
7-13 minutes
10-30 minutes

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm super horny, and will want a quicky (this will be in the 1 to 2 minutes category)

And sometimes I want it to be slow with kissing in between, and perhaps a different position or two - this will take longer )perhaps 5 minutes or so of piv.

I have to agree though, if it goes on and on and on, I get bored, my mind begins to stray, I make grocery lists....... you get the picture

I'm with the 7-13 minutes group. I *can* orgasm in less than 7 minutes, and sometimes, if foreplay is good enough, I've orgasmed immediately upon penetration.

When sex goes on too long, I dry up and it's uncomfortable. You've probably got me on my back for about 15 minutes before I'm *done* with it.

HOWEVER

I'd really prefer lots and lots of play, 7 minutes of PIV, more play, 7 more minutes of PIV, more play, 7 more minutes of PIV, etc, all day long or until I pass out or get hungry. No, we're not eating in bed, there's crumbs.

And yes, moods always alter the 'norm'

I'll lump the middle categories together for 3-13 minutes, depending on the situation.

I usually orgasm before intercourse, and can always have one after, so even a few minutes can be just fine or just right. If we're going for slower sex or trying for subsequent orgasms, somewhere around 10 minutes is usually perfect.

Anything longer than that can get boring, painful and/or make me wonder what's going on with him. I had a partner that always lasted 10+ minutes due to his antidepressant, and it was frustrating for both of us, so I'm glad my husband is more likely to be quicker and able to hold off some, than slower and always have to try to hurry up.

Too many variables. Older women tend to reach orgasm quicker than younger women. "Experienced" women (regardless of age) are more likely to direct traffic, and therefor ae more likely to set pace, etc. I'm not sure about other men, but I try to last at least 15 minutes.

It all depends on what we're doing. For a quickie, 5-10mins. If he's fucking me slowly, I can enjoy anything up to half an hour of PIV sex and being a painslut I can tolerate, gain a degree of enjoyment and continue climaxing from far more than that.

As an average, regardless of how we're playing, I'd say anything up to half an hour is fine and dandy and I'll be lucky enough to climax multiple times.

If we're talking PIA sex though, it's a whole different set of variables.

I have to take a different approach to responding to this thread. I don't equate pleasure with a time limit. When my wife and I are really in the mood it can be very intense in a short amount of time. I assume we're like any other couple, sometimes we like it slow and gentle and other times we like it fast and hard. We've both cum in a matter of minutes and we've also went about 10 minutes, but it makes her very sore. I can usually tell if its going to take me a while to cum and if so, I'll usually withdraw after she's had an orgasm and we'll finish by other means, so she's not sore.

To be honest, I've never timed myself ... never had time to start the clock!

In all seriousness, I'd probably fall into the 7 to 10 minute range, however I too like chicklet's idea of "go, break, go, break, ..." and have done that on occasion. However, the girlfriend usually has other ideas which doesn't involve a change in play. Once she's rev'd up, it's time to get to work, no more messing around!

To answer the question, time seems to stand still, a quicky can 'lose' 45 minutes easily. There's so much more to sex though, having said that PIV must be generally at least 10 mins of it. I'd stay in all day, but life gets in the way doesn't it?
