Been watching Torchwood? It's a spin off of Droctor Who. (Also and anagram of Doctor Who)

If you're not taking it down to pour scorn on me later, perhaps I was in the room for a second when it was on the TV.

Not a lit-chick kinda thing. Goddammit a guy's the ruler of the universe - should have called him sc..., -I mean Rumple.

:D:D

I watched a couple of episodes. I found that it lacked the "tongue-in-cheek" quality of the Doctor and was far too serious in it's approach. (Also "Capt Jack Harkness is pretty gay )

I downloaded the episodes after it came out about a year back.

I thought it was just okay. I think they wanted to make something a little more adult and serious than Doctor Who. Unfortunately it suffers from the usual shite that makes virtually all british drama unwatchable to me.

i.e.
Drama = conflict, therefore we shall put x obnoxious people in a room and have them shout at each other.

There are some good episodes, but some of them, particularly near the end, are truly dire.

Yeah. Not a fanatic, but good enough to make room in my not-so busy schedule to watch. Only seen 5 or so episodes of the last season though. So I'm staying out of this thread in case there are spoilers.

Yes, I love Torchwood and Dr. Who. And yes, Captain Jack is pretty gay, on the show and in real life. Yay! :D

Meh, it's not that serious all the time, but I do love a good end-of-the-world dramatic scenario that can be sorted out in an hour.

ETA: I'm only on season 2, so no spoilers, British folks.

I'm waiting for it to come to TV down here. I'm interested in any sci fi because there's none on at the moment. It's going to be a long wait though because tv here has this weird and annoying habit of buying new shows then just not putting them on. With all the repeats that are on instead, and the fact that having current programming is better than having out of date programming it strikes me as odd that they do that, but hey I mop floors for a living, I'm not a hundred grand a year tv exec so what do I know? But you'd think the never ending letters to tv guide saying "when's Torchwood gonna be on?" that the penny would eventually drop.

Ah well. Is it any good?

By the way he's not gay, he's bi.

Hiya, Human.

You can watch Torchwood whenever you want with this link:

I've tried it out and the best link seems to be the second bold Torchwood Alternative Links, starting with Season 2 002 - 001 · Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang · Torchwood.

Torchwood didn't last a season here before it was pulled off TV. It ran for about five episodes then went to a deadzone late night spot, then disappeared. I watched it till it moved, but wasn't sufficiently taken to chase it.

Speaking of British drama - anyone see Jekyll? (I've seen the first three eps so far - so please, no spoilers). Personally I find it wonderful TV.
