If it were possible to organize a Lit-West this year, perhaps around the Veteran's Day weekend, would there be much interest? I'm so jealous of the fun you all had in Chicago that I'm not sure I can wait until next March.

Ditto for the Southeast USA!

I'd love one in Charlotte or Atlanta or Charleston or Myrtle Beach!

Sorry, I'll be camping at Horsethief Gulch. (Don't laugh, it's a real place)

Oh, there's fishing there. Lit conversation over fresh trout and white wine, delightful. A bit nippy in November for me, though.

Sounds like a severe lack of room service there!:eek:

Who the hell needs room service? It's cowboy cooking at its best. Coffee over an open fire as the sun peeks up over the lake. Steak done in a dutch oven with eggs cooked with bacon, hash browns with onions, peppers, and left over brats chopped up in them. Fresh hot biscuits out of another dutch oven....damn, I'm getting hungry...LOL...

Oh, for some reason, for a Lit-together I was thinking of extra towels, not breakfast! :devil:

The food sounds good but the conditions sound too much like a bivouac. Been there, done that . . . just about once too often. I've reached the "lodge" stage of my life, now. That's why I was keeping Lit-West in a hotel. We'll raise a toast to you, though, Dark. And good fishing, that man.

Honey, I grew up out west, and Dad taught me how to hunt. You don't have to tell me - just fear me. ;)

In California the entire deer camp came in and went back out on our backs. I'm too old and stiff for that any more but it sure was fun, away back when. Now days, I have to work while everyone else gets to go hunting. That's why I've been to Africa so often, and to the Arctic. They're where you can hunt during summer vacation. And after you've done a safari, cowboy cooking and sleeping on the ground just isn't the same, anymore. :D

The only thing i worried about was having an either sex area full of Texans in the next draw. Sounded like a firefight, those clowns shot at anything that moved> Somehow nobody got killed. :eek:

Probably too drunk to hit the broadside of a battleship;

from the inside! :rolleyes: :D

I have enough cast iron to feed about 40 people right now....LOL...good thing I have a 3/4 ton truck to haul it it.

I am a devotee and practioner of cowboy cooking....I'd love to participate in the Lincoln County Chuckwagon cookoff...
