This is general post of interest to all at Literotica...

For quite awhile, the so-called "author" (and I use the term loosely), SamuelX has been jamming up this site with almost 600 crappy stories. They all follow a basic formula, and from the ones I've read, each is pretty much the same as the last. Everytime he posts, most if not all the commentators make the same observations of his lousy stories.

I'm starting this thread in hopes that more Lit users will get behind this. Granted, his stories are not the only bad ones, but with the sheer volume, and how they are all awful, we need to get this guy out of here. He is watering down the general quality of stories on this site... I started coming here years ago because this site has GREAT erotic stories, and I hate seeing someone like this ruin it. He constantly regurgitating his stories and making no effort to improve his writing.

If moderators/webmasters of the site could comment on this as well, that would be super!

Server space is very very cheap. I didn't bother to go look at the writer in question, but I suspect that there are more tastes in readers than there are in writers and, that being the case, so long as there is someone out there who might enjoy the writer's stories, what's the harm? It's not like it's a zero-sum game where his stories are somehow disabling others from being published here. Let's say the number of his "lousy" stories went from 600 to 6,000. So what? It's kind of like bitching about TV shows that are boring and/or disgusting: there are hundreds of channels. If you don't like what you see, change the channel, right?
 
Stories aren't automatically posted -- the site owners choose which stories are put up, not us.

I find that I can choose which stories I read. Funny freedom that...
 
Samx is on the top favorites list according to Scouries. He must be good.
 
Some valid points made... true enough... although some of you don't have to be such pricks about it...

Then what is the point of having a rating system, user comments, etc? I've always thought the point of Lit was twofold - to allow people to publish their stories, and for those writers, through the process of comments and criticism from other writers and readers, to improve upon their writing.

There have been many authors that I've read who have taken the constructive criticism they have been given, and have created EVEN BETTER stories. Shouldn't that also be important on this site - not only writing, but writing well, and improving on that craft??? I understand the entire TV analogy - change the channel, etc. - but this is not TV. The internet is supposed to be interactive!!! And wouldn't improving the content be better than just having mediocre content?

Really and truly I think the point is to have free stories and although some may take it seriously (just check out the Authors Hangout) others just do it for fun/to turn themselves on/to turn someone else on.

And the ratings are used for the competitions and the comments are there so authors can get feedback if they want it, as simple as that.

And you'll decide which content is mediocre will you? Or someone else? How will you decide? What's your criteria? How much do you want to be paid to sift through the thousands of stories?

We don't need it. The site is already self-moderating. Read what you want, avoid the rest. That's how it works.

No one's interested in your personal purges.

I don't generally read the stories here. But if you give me a link to your I will happily give them all a bad rating. Cause of your whining and stuff...
