I personally love to chat on yahoo and talk about desires and fantasies. Sometimes anonymity allows us to talk about things that we might otherwise might feel uncomfortable chatting about in real life. I can't speak for anyone else, but I run into a few problems with online chatting:
- Interrupted by real life. Sometimes I will meet someone and have a few naughty chats but then family/work/life gets in the way and I am not online for a spell. Then I tend to forget who the usernames are and feel awkward starting over.
- Different turnons/fantasies. I notice most posts in the personals section are simply, "looking to chat online about sex. PM me!" or, "let's have hot phone sex, tell me if you're interested!" A lot of times I'll start chatting with someone and soon discover that while I might fantasize about interracial sex and younger men, they fantasize about feet and pantyhose. Even worse is the generic, "I like everything!" which is never really true. If I wanted to talk to someone with incompatible fantasies, I'd talk to my husband.

This happens to me a lot: I'll be chatting with a guy over PM's or something and he seems sincere and interesting.... And then as soon as he gets me on an instant messenger he starts talking about sex. It's so very UNinteresting when that happens. If I like you, I will talk about sex eventually. Don't push it on me. That is the case for me 99 percent of the time. Just because I hang out here doesn't mean I'm a nymphomaniac and must talk fantasies 24/7. And if you don't have anything else to say to me besides "what are you wearing?" I would rather you spare me the trouble of trying to politely make you go away.

A utube of you tap dancing would get me talking for sure! Esp. of you did some old Nicholas brothers routines...
In general:
I get a lot of pms, I try to work through answering them in order, but I am probably behind by 60-70. If you write something that stands out or that I am interested in, I may respond quicker because it will take no thought to answer.

I agree especially with secretflirt above. I'd add that certain men don't take hints or even explicit feedback and continue pursuing their interests. For me, this is about finding the common interests and exploiting them for pleasure.
If I say I have no interest in anal sex, I don't feel I need to explain why, or hear "you'd love it if you try". I think I made it very clear whether I would chat about it, try it or love it by saying "no interest".
