I've always been a little woolly on the meaning of "First Base" when American people are talking about sex -- I presume a "Home Run" is fucking. But what are First, Second and Third Base?

And, (British People), I'm trying to remember the exact sequence in the equivalent code over here, where "Number 10" was fucking and "Number 1" was I think H.O.B. (Hand on Boob).

I must say I found that knowing the sequence was very useful during my teenage courtship times, to prevent me doing things in the wrong order.

Huh, my "system" is a little different than any of the others posted:

First Base: French-kissing
Second Base: Direct hand-to-breast contact (Obviously a little biased towards teenage boy perspective)
Third Base: Oral sex (Either way)
Home Run: Genital penetration (Includes Homosexual men, but sadly Lesbians are left out from this system)

Of course, they're not as nebulous as the term "hooked up".
Example:
"I hooked up with that tall guy at the party last night," Jenny told her friend Amy.

Now, Amy and Jenny may have already established what "hooking up" means to them, but if you overhear this conversation, Jenny may have done anything between heavy kissing and full on sex with said (lucky?) guy. It usually seems to mean something in between, like a heavy make-out session.

At least where i grew up....First Base was making out/groping...Second was nudity/using hand on the other person...third was oral sex...and HR was fucking
