here we go again - tornado season

Its headed your way, I promise, unless it veers off between here and there. At one point, it was raining so hard that I couldn't see the house across the street through the rain, and the thunder was loud enough to rattle stuff in the cabinets.

Its already passed. It was just north of me.

Fucking storm cells.

Just starting to drizzle here, we're getting the tail end of it.

Cloudy, you're welcome here anytime.

(and I thought the plural possesive of y'all is y'allses )

And Hawai'i can't hold everybody! :D

But...:(

Hawaii is just the tip of a range of volcanoes waiting to explode and one is erupting right now.

The dry centre of Australia is the safest place to be - no earthquakes, no volcanoes, no tornadoes, no rain, not much of anything (except radioactive soil).

There's always north :p

We don't have to deal with much worse than snow. And the 3 months of summer really are lovely.

At least you know they're coming. You get several days warning in advance.

(1) Several days in advance of a hurricane, all anyone knows is that it's going to hit some part of the coast. By the time you know for semi-sure that you're in its path, you've either evacuated or you're there for the duration. If you evacuated every time there was a good chance of being in the path of a big one, you'd have to quit your job and keep your kids out of school. It's not an exact science.

(2) If you evacuate, you still have to come home. A hurricane warning doesn't stop the destruction, ad no amount of preparation can save your home if it's a Category 5 storm and you're in its direct path.

(3) Strong hurricanes contain tornados.

You have no idea....I would so freeze my ass off during the winter.

I was raised in Santa Barbara, Cali...where the temp never goes below about 60 F, and now I live in the deep south where "winter" is only a month or so of chilly weather (zero snow) to deal with.

I think I'd rather listen for the tornado sirens, but thanks anyway. :)

besides...y'all talk funny :D

Hahaha, we *all* freeze our asses off. Is it worth it for the lack of natural disasters or poisonous creepy crawlies? In December, yah.

If it's still snowing in april, I might risk the twisters.

Glad to see you made it though this one :)

Yeah, but we have nine of the top ten poisonous snakes and a couple of the nastiest spiders, and crocodiles

Oh, and did I mention the 8-inch centipedes? :)

The centipedes are crunchy especially when fried.
