I'm pretty sure her latest blog stuff about Hugo and all would roll right into the flash section of Red Pulp Underground.

I love Eve's stuff, but I can't remember all of it. Is it in hiding on her site?

Keep writing and finding happiness dear lady. It's due.

Hell. I'd even whack her ass with some borrowed Hugonian implement if I thought I could get her to submit.

Her poems. Submit her poems someplace. What I meant.

You're good, m'dear. Trust to fate and collect some rejection slips like the rest of us.

They're kind of nice, actually. You can lacquer them onto old found furniture to make it "hip."

Not that I would know.

hi Eve. You don't know me, mostly I lurk. You are very good, just from what I have read here. I hope you have very much success. I really enjoyed your Conrad Dimple poems on the other thread. You have a dark but very entertaining sense of humor.

She reads and smiles. The smile is a child's smile. She has overheard her parents' words: surprise party and a pony. She is gleeful but doesn't want the happy glitter to fade, so she looks away, because her eyes have the power to bring about a deglittering -- and she likes to make up ridiculous, little words. So she closes the window and pushes the keyboard away, then manic-writes about everything, daring to peek in once in awhile.

I'll get the other two and maybe try to submit the series to the corpsey thing.
I hate you, dear. And the rest of you.

Okay, I decided to start with the Corpse. I'm sending the Conrad Dimple/Python poem. Is it okay to send one or should I send more? Ange, didn't you send a letter along with your poem when you sent a poem to the Corpse?
I have everything ready to go, as far as the attached poem and contact info.
Is that python poem too silly for that site? I better go read some poems there. Where's yours?

Go, baby, go!

I can't pimp the publication and submission thing like some - i'd be a hypocrite, but what I will be in charge of is:

a) nagging you to continue to write, and

b) trying various bits of mojo to affect your willingness to be proud of your work and accept compliments without getting nervous.

At that level, at least, I'm ever so in.

I'm in. I'll try to keep in mind what I know of Eve's style and if I see something. . .Hmm. I think Poetry Revolt might be a good fit in terms of that, but not sure if that meets the goal? I used to have contact info somewhere.

I think you should send them a handful of your Conrad poems and an email sort of in your blog style. They'll love you, I bet. If you read their submissions guidelines, I think you'll agree it's a good fit. And you'll be in good company. Denis Hale is in the current issue. They like us there! :)

Oh found the info on Poetry Revolt.
Thank you, P.Glitter.

And thanks Tzara, bijou, NJ, Carrie, OhLiv. :rose:

I'm trying to find a few more poems to send to the Ex. Cor., then I'll work on these other sites once I get back from my weekend trip that's coming up. Ohhh, submitting poems is so so so not fun. lol

I know nothing of the publishing world. So I'll be in charge of saying woot.

Woot!

Here's a wonderful list of poetry publishing resources from the Poetry Society of America. Evie, I know you can find places to submit your stuff to from among these. I've pored over it and will help with recommendations if you think it'll help. I'd do anything for you, bless your heart. :)

you lucky bastard, you have a drape and a teapot

I'll bet you have 3 kinds of mint growing in pots around the kitchen. Mmmm that would smell so good.

I don't. I've been buying fresh herbs at the grocery store, but I want to put an herb garden in our apartment. I'd have to do it in the living room though cuz the kitchen doesn't have the right exposure. Or I could get one of those aero garden thingies, which seem very cool to me.

sis, i have a huge pot of mint that dies off in winter, but returns every year, thicker and more fragrant, and sage as well. i would be more than happy to send you a few sprigs, and some with roots, should you so desire

Begging your indulgence, Eve, from an old thread, an old poem.

Scream

In the night kitchen,
where grandparents cloned
American Gothic in scream masks,
gaunt and frozen,

bones climbed mine like ivy,
then spread beneath the table,
her oval fear elongating
into Munch's scream.

Hush, Hannah, hush.
We will lock the screams away.

and an old comment
Realizing the amount of time and thought you put into your work, and your deft handling of classical forms, I am awed by your artistry.

It is a shame you pulled your old stuff Eve, I went looking for two other things you do very well, sensitive portrayal of people (remembering a poem about an old woman in a beauty parlor) and an apt awareness of your surroundings - lucky to find this -

Light lulls us toward halo
illusions.
We are bare beneath fluorescent hum,
Though, I do embrace our conclusions.

italics are mine
A lot of newcomers to this site would have benefitted from your example.

Anyway, I don't know if the poetry world is ready, but I am. I would love to see you in hardbound.
With illustrations.

I think Gahan Wilson is still alive.

Best.
