I just bought Martha Stewart's new Cookie book.

It's like the Holy Bible of Cookies (and 30% off at Border's books!). Page after page of 175 delicious recipes and delicious photographs of cookies from "light and delicate" to "rich and dense", hazelnut cookies and fortune cookies, macaroons and snickerdoodles, blondies and gingerbread, oatmeal and chocolate chip. There's even a section dedicated to tools, techniques, decorating and packaging.

I'm in heaven. Now if I can just figure out who might want to eat all these cookies I'm eager to bake.....

Cookies are fabulous! They're even better if you crush them up and mix them with frozen yogurt or coconut sorbet.

Oh, God. I'm having palpitations. A WHOLE book of MARTHA!!!

I know I've said this many times, but her basic gingerbread cookie recipe is awesome. Actually, everthing I've tried of hers has been really good.

ETA: For folks who don't want to buy the book, her website is a treasure trove of recipes and has a lot of information about baking/storing/shipping cookies.

I have my biggest public appearance of the year in a month... *sigh* I need to look more like someone that works outside with a hammer or a pickaxe and less like I sit on my ass in front of a computer all day...

I'll sit and watch the rest of you enjoy them and just sigh loudly if that's okay...

I'll pretend to eat them! Actually some I might actually eat, but I'm kind of a picky eater. My dad clipped a Peanuts cartoon out for me once that really summed it up.
