Most of two days, umpteen hours on the phone first with my ISP, and then with my favorite geek, taking the computer apart and putting it back together again not once but twice, a trip to Staples to get a new network card....

...and my damn computer can finally connect to the internet again. :)

Wow. Well. A year and a half's worth of work, using what little free time I had to work on it.

Many, MANY people commenting on the beauty of it, one even going as far as to say she was jealous and that it was a true labor of love.

I give it to him, and it sits on top of his shoes in the closet, gathering dust. True appreciation.

Men really can be pig-dogs. Or at least, some of them have perfected the piggishness.

If I keep dancing this mambo the way I have, I will be able to crack a nut with my cheeks. Not that I would...ah..want to...just still... Whooo hooo. God I love dancing, I need a partner.

It's weird that the more you like talking to people the harder it can be to write them back. There's just so much stuff there, *gestures to head and heart* you know? That happens to me a lot.

Nice to see you, Togs. :)
(Hope you don't mind my nickname.)

I wonder if they'll let her on the plane after seeing how big her suitcase is.

Maybe she can dump all her clothes here and stuff me in it to take home. I think I can fit in comfortably.

I'll fold you in half if need be.

I love those rare moments at the restaurant in which everything just seems to go so . . . perfect. Every one of my guests is happy, and they feel like true friends to me. It doesn't happen often, and I love it when it does.

Tonight was one of those nights. Actually, it was the entire day. Seemed I could do no wrong, and it seemed that smiles were easy. Even when I made the rare mistake.

But the best part was a little five-year-old girl named Elena. She showed off her new birthday dress, and stared at me with a smile as I sang 'Happy Birthday' in Italian. She left me a litle note, too: "Thanks, Dave! Your[sic] a great singer!"

The tip was a side note. A bonus. The real reward was Elena's smile and the way she waved to me as she left, that big grin splitting ehr little face in half.

God, I'd be a great father . . . .
