120 days of sodomy by the marques de sade (sp)

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty?

Also branding. Women do you like that would you request that?

All good reads...branding? Yes, I am (can be seen in first pic in my signature) and will be again. Not my place to ask for it, but am proud to wear his permanent brand.

120 of Sodom was boring to me. It read like a running commentary.

I've heard enough bad reviews of this one to save my money.

Branding is one of those things I would love to do after I've been in a very stable relationship with someone for a very long time. Barring that, I'll get along just fine without it. IMO, it's something that should only be done when you're certain you're going to be together for the long haul, else it'll end up being like the old rule that once you get someone's name tattooed on you, y'all will break up within the next six months, and you'll either be stuck with a painful reminder, or you'll have to spend a whole lot of money getting rid of it. (God, that was a run-on sentence.) I don't think any sort of "ownership" mark should ever be taken lightly, and I think it should take longer than a month or two to decide if you're going to do it or not. That's strictly my opinion; I'm really conservative about such things.

What "fiction" reading would you recommend in this vein then?

How did that branding come about... what led up to it and describe the event?

Pic is in my signature, and you will find out more about it and such markings in general in this thread . As BB says, is not something I recommend for those in casual relationships, nor the minute they move in together...needs a little more thought as well sa meaning than that and not as easy to remove as a velcroe collar.

I assume when you say relates you are meaning to anything relative to the individual whom associates personally with BDSM. Wellllllllllllllll after my training concluded as a very prestigious yet completely unknown to the majority Chateau in the South of Brisbane................not. Sorry Seth just a little humor, little to nothing about the book influences myself as a submissive. I was active in my submission for at least a decade before the book and I crossed paths. Out of curiosity I have read it as well as viewing a 3 versions of the book ascribed the film. I know at least 3 men whom identify as dominants that credit seeing one of the movie versions of O as being the catalyst for their interest in D/s and BDSM. Most preloved book sites you will find the book available for a few dollars. I am not a fan.

Boring, repetitive, boring, repetitive. I consider that book one of the worst ever penned by de Sade. I tend to believe it was nothing more than a filler in order to acquire funds when needed quickly. The narration in part was fine the rest was a complete yawn. If you really want to read some fine de Sade, try reading this.

I disliked the series. I believe our Miss Fury has reviews on one of her threads, I'll see if I can find them and link them to you.

Nothing I aspire to, recently having a dispute with an active oven element I get the the physical idea . Not seeing myself requesting a repeat performance under any circumstances. Having said so, I have seen some exquisite branding artistry over the years , predominantly in imagery of diverse ethnic cultures and a few of our 'own'.

Fixed your post :rose:

You'll never earn a velcro collar dammit Cat if you don't learn to spell it accurately.

100 times now please

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty?

Good lord..with the exception of the first three chapters of the first book in the trilogy it was pretty much utter shit. If you like your BDSM with a LOT of fantasy involved, then go for it. If you want something that will translate reasonably from book to real-time play...this is NOT the series for you.

Branding has some medical/health risks that should be carefully considered before consenting to receiving one or giving one. The risk of infection is VERY high any time you burn the skin as such.

http://www.bmezine.com/scar/scar-faq.html Some good info there about branding/scarification.

LOL, well I figured these were pieces of fiction so people would be asking about them as such more so than a guide to how to get into BDSM, though you never know. That being said, certain aspects do translate for some people, but as in all books, no book is going to reflect a person's real life experience page by page. That is the beauty of fiction, it doens't have to be factual.

Seth the best advise I can offer is for you to seriously take some time and peruse this thread that is hosted by our Miss Fury Furry.

The BDSM Book Club Discussion Thread

There has been a huge amount of sincere work and reflection/review of books noted within, it's an amazing asset for those making requests exactly as you have. I have linked it mid thread to approximately where mentions of the Beauty Series are made.

Best of luck :rose:

1.) I tried to read it. I couldn't get into it.

2.) I haven't read it but I'm all for sodomy!

3.) I didn't like it much at all. See the BDSM Book of the Month Club thread for more details if you wish.

The selection for the month of July 2007 was The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by A. N. Roquelaure AKA Anne Rice the discussion of that book starts here:

http://forum.literotica.com/showthre...1#post23618631

4.) I don't believe I like burning flesh. I find it rather horrifying that animals are ever branded. I tend to like smooth skin in general.

5.) At this time, I can't imagine requesting it. Certainly it would have to be a special relationship in which much trust was built before such happened. A component would also have to be that s/he wanted it. I might well ask for it if I knew it would please my love very, very much.

I didn't like the ending. Otherwise it was okay.

Haven't read the other two. I had a boyfriend who used to read me de Sade, but I'm not sure what exactly.

I used to think branding was really hot, but mostly because I like monograms. I can't have any permanent markings though so ...

I've only recently covered this topic with viv. 17 years is probably long enough. I think we're stable. :)

As was said, the first coupla chapters of Beauty were okay. The rest were so ludicrous as to leave me open-mouthed and wondering why fairy tales aren't taken a teensy bit more seriously.

Never really found anything by de Sade that wound me up enough to read the whole thing.

And O just bored me.

When it comes to BDSM, give me non-fiction, thanks. I have read a few pieces of short erotica (on here, shock) that I liked, but only a few. Most are honestly too implausible for my tastes.

I actually found deSade really fun to, er, listen to. I just never got back around to reading it.

As for erotica? I used to like it. :)

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty?

I like these. Then again, when I read them, I was relatively vanilla. Malin and I were dating and I was reading books that he liked that he was giving me and he said, "here, read these, tell me what you think."

By the end of the first book, I was thinking, My GOD, how could someone let ANYONE treat them that way. By the end of the second book, I was still semi-appalled but started feeling a tingling.. By the end of the third, everything about her submission was turning me on. Although Malin likes to tease me because all I wanted was a happy, romantic ending.

But hey... that's why it's fiction.. it's fantasy.. not meant to be mistaken for how things are supposed to be

Master and I talk about this from time to time, about having his initials branded into my thigh. However, that may be kind of weird and disrespectful to my husband, so we dont.

This is why I don't write porn. I sound all technical and stuff.

Same here. I'm too stream-of-consciousness, too. Imagine a cross between Flannery O'Connor and Virginia Woolf writing porn.

"And then Sue kissed Jack on his nose, a nose which, incidentally, had been broken at least three times in various barfights. Unfortunately for Jack, each break actually improved the appearance of his schnozz, which, of course, could explain why Sue refused to fuck him with the lights on. Poor guy.

Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah, Sue kissed Jack on his nose. Then, Jack kissed her chin, which kind of resembled a bulldog's, given Sue's terrible underbite. She'd never gotten corrected as a kid. Now that she can afford it, she figures what the hell? Might as well keep it, since she's been stuck with it so long, and no woman in her mid-30s wants braces, anyhow.

Jack took off her shirt. She took off his shirt. They stared at each other for a moment, thanking whichever Deities were looking over them that the damned lights were out, and got back down to business."
