Hey, it's me wondering what category you all think would be best to put a story into.

It's a story about a committed couple having sex in a roof-less tree house during a rain storm. Yes, there are words like cock in it. Yes, he strokes said cock as he watches the rain fall down on her and they "couple".

My question is, is this in the Romantic category or Erotic Coupling category?

I hate to keep bothering about the category stuff, but I'd like to put my stories in a place where the most appreciative readers could read them. And yes, the human/elf/faerie story is still under my heavy hand and will be submitted and (hopefully) approved soon.

Thanks for suggestions. - Amber

The question boils down to, are they romancing each other or is this just a down and dirty have a good time sex thing. The first is romance the second is erotic coupling. That's my take anyway.

What Tx said...why? Because he's sexy and I will agree to anything he says in order to have my way with him. . .

But in case he denies me then...

I'd say the same thing either way. If it is full of "hard-core" sex then go with Erotic Couplings. If they are "coupling" as you call it and it is more of a tender exchange of caresses and gentle loving then it should go in Romance.

Also... another option, one I sometimes do is to put in the Notes section that you are struggling between a couple categories and would like the folks of Lit to decide. I do this when I have a "hint" of BDSM but not enough for a full BDSM story, but I do know that sometimes even a "hint" will cause a story to be considered for that category.

Good luck. :D

Yep have to agree ---

Erotic Coupling - that seems best ..... IMHO though...

Human Elf thingie..... I wanna read!

You could make them brother and sister and then it'd be a shoo-in for Incest and you'd get tons of readers.

But in all seriousness, I'd say it sounds more like erotic coupling.

I agree with only more so on both counts.

If it's more of a "stroke" story where the husband/wife says, "Up here in the treehouse!" and they're wearing next to nothing, and with only a dirty word or two exchanged the two of them very quickly get down-and-dirty even as the rain starts to fall giving them even more down-and-dirty ideas....that's erotic coupling.

If, on the other hand, the husband/wife lures up their spouse to the treehouse for a romantic picnic, and they talk and laugh a bit about how much they adore each other even as they start to exchange tender...and then hot and hotter kisses and caresses...and then they get down-and-dirty even as the rain starts to fall...that's romance.

But if a limb breaks and she ends up hanging by her corset, then that's bdsm in everyone's book. :D

You can certainly say cock in Romance, and somebody better handle it, otherwise it goes to non-erotic :)

The bold portion gives you two other category options -- Exhibition/Voyeur and Fetish.

There really is a fetish for having sex during storms; as well as one for just having sex outdoors.

The Exhibition potential should be self-evident in having sex in an open tree-house.

FWIW, I'd probably put it in Romance unless there is some emphasis on the storm or potential exposure. Erotic Couplings is a catchall category that shoul dbe avoided unless you absolutely cannot justify another category.
