I need a really good recipe, anyone got one they want to share?

My sister used to make an incredible one, but we can't find the recipe....I think it used condensed or evaporated milk in it.

search allrecipes, they have just about everything you could want and a stasr rating with reviews so you can check how the recipe has worked for other people :)

I don't have a personal recipe, though, sorry.

Only one I know uses ordinary milk. 1 oz sugar, 2 oz pudding rice and a pint of milk. Pinch of grated nutmeg. Bake in greased dish for two hours.

Probably not as 'luxurious' as the one you're after though :)

Mine is sort of a rice custard; cooked rice, milk, beaten eggs, sugar, lump of butter (melted makes it easier) pinch of salt, a big squeeze of lemon juice. I like to grate some nutmeg and the rind of the lemon in as well, for my flavoring. The proportions are variable-- it can be very dense with rice, or more like a sweet custard with rice floating in it.

ohhh, that sounds good!

You Brits are disappointing me.:p

I must be too indulgent. Every time I see milk in a recipe, I think, "Nope, Half and Half or Heavy Cream."

My Irishman has -begged- for this one a time or two. It's good.

beat together 3 eggs, 1 1/2 c milk, 1/3 c sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Make sure it doesn't foam. Stir in 1 c cooked rise and 1/2 c raisins (we use golden raisins - the flavor is a bit more mild).

Pour into a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Sprinkle with either nutmeg or cinnamon.

Place casserole in a 2 quard square baking dish on an oven rack. Pour boiling water into the bottom dish to a depth of about 1 inch.

Bake in 325* over 45 - 55 minutes, until a knife comes out clean, stirring after 30 minutes.

Never too indulgent:kiss:

That reminds me of a woman I knew; she tasted some orange juice at my house and thought it was too tart. The Old Man suggested blending in a banana to smooth out the flavor, so she did. I will never forget the way she tasted it, said "Oh, now THAT'S good!" and peeled the entire bunch of bananas and blended them in as well.

I loved her for that greediness!
