Morning Bel.......I was just going to say what are you doing up, when my still asleep brain reminded me, it's only 11pm over there......

yep... timezones *shrug*

Milady love has been asleep for awhile now...

but this time Wed. we'll be together. :D

No, no, no...............that's a pullover........................outerwear

this.......is a vest........underwear

*shakes head sadly at the confusion of American English*.

;)

To continue.......a vest, is an item of underclothes, worn mainly by older men, and children. I was made to wear a vest under my shirt/sweater (depending on the age and the school), until I started wearing bras. Both my boys wore vests, until they were around 11.......they then preferred to wear the t-shirt style vests - it was cooler, apparently.

What Imp pictured was a knitted outer garment, over here known as a pullover, or in the 70's when they became gaudily coloured, and fashionable, worn tightly over a shirt - tank tops....in other words, a sleeveless sweater.

The circular confusion arises, because what you colonials call a tank top, is, in fact.......a vest (or in some cases, a sleevless t-shirt).

The final point........the other item that you call a vest, towhit, a sleeveless, button fronted garment worn over a shirt.....is in fact....a waistcoat, traditionally worn as part of a 3-piece suit, but more latterly as an item of fashion wear in its own right. I even own 2 or 3 of them myself.

Scheherezade is leaving!!!!!!!!!!!

Honest.

Check this out.

:(

I just don't get it.

I didn't get it when others left before and I don't get this. Unless it were a requirement of something unavoidable (I love you all, but if it came down to talking to you or seeing my kids...) I would not be willing to slam that door and burn that bridge so finally.

exactly.

I gotta go, the shower beckons, and if I don't go soon, I'll be late for work, and that will never do.

The only good thing about the wife being home 'on the sick', is that I get to come home at lunch time and spend time with her, it's only a 10 minute drive away.

And today, our new rings arrive........I've had to make her swear not to open the box until I get home, so we can do it together. That ring only goes on her finger by my hand!!
