Nothing new since 'Chatty Cathy' (HHH).

"We need change, because change is good. If change wasn't good, I wouldn't have been sent amongst you bring change about, and I am change. And change is diferent than the change you're been through to far, and that's all in the past. And the past is, like, history.

"I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead;
I just need some place where I can lay my head.
"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said.

(Chorus:)
Take a load off Fannie, take a load for free;
Take a load off Fannie, And (and) (and) you can put the load right on me.

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide;
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side.
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on, let's go downtown."
She said, "I gotta go, but m'friend can stick around."

(Chorus)

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say
It's just ol' Luke, and Luke's waitin' on the Judgement Day.
"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"
He said, "Do me a favor, son, woncha stay an' keep Anna Lee company?"

(Chorus)

Crazy Chester followed me, and he caught me in the fog.
He said, "I will fix your rags, if you'll take Jack, my dog."
I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man."
He said, "That's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can."

(Chorus)

Catch a Cannonball, now, t'take me down the line
My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time.
To get back to Miss Annie, you know she's the only one.
Who sent me here with her regards for everyone.

(Chorus)"

Oh look, Ishmael has an opinion and is belligerent about it... Now there's something you only see every day.

Must have been bored with the thread you started too. *sigh*

Yeah, I know, seen it all before. But this time it MIGHT be real.

"Reading departure signs in some big airport
Reminds me of the places I've been.
Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure
Makes me want to go back again.
If it suddenly ended tomorrow,
I could somehow adjust to the fall.
Good times and riches and son of a bitches,
I've seen more than I can recall."

Forceful about it. :) Logical even. Not at all like a pre-menstrual 13 year old school girl.

Go take care of your thread. Want me to bump it for ya?

You might as well.
You're so bored you're double posting in this one.

His critique is a bit limp, isn't it?
Yeah well, could be worse: "Entertain me, it's 4am and I don't want to go for my walk yet." When you're done there, can you trim my kitty's nails?

No kitty, sorry to disappoint.

Which thread would that be? I haven't made one since.. Hmm.. the Betrayed thread the other day. Although I did post a great fried chicken recipe to the Foodgasm thread.

Wait, are you trying to accuse me of being an Alt now too?

Oh, the one where the feds cut the funding after the class action suit was filed. You seemed to have left that little detail out. Not to worry, I picked up on it and so did Roscoe, you know Roscoe, he lives up there.

Then I got CJ involved.

It's getting really interesting.

Nothing was "left out".

*nods* Blame the cuts on the class action suit that was filed because even before the 70% cuts the budgeted amounts were woefully inadequate and had to be supplemented by emergency appropriations constantly.

But then, Bush has been all about hiding expenditures from the actual budget numbers by "emergency appropriation" of funds that he knew were needed. It makes the books look good.

So the $75 million in Sept. just wasn't enough? And without a settlement I should throw your're marginal money after bad. Afterall sparky, it is YOUR money.

Tell you what sparky, the address of the health fund is on the web. You write a check , verified, and I'll match it. Put your money where your mouth is. Don't bet with others wallets.

That $75 million was after the fact, another "emergency appropriation" and I believe it was actually $50 million, but that's neither here nor there..

The reason that the class action was filed was because the funds being set aside were a pittance the cost of treating Ground Zero workers. The cost is about $218 million year and is expected to grow as the workers’ illnesses worsen. Bush allocated a mere $25 million in this budget. Last year the allocated budget was just over $108 million, and an additional $50 million was approved through "emergency appropriations" when that fell well short of the need.

Since when is caring for those who risked their lives in the wake of a National Disaster, some of which were not city, state, or federal employees "throwing good money after bad"? Had the Fed stepped up and actually funded the health costs as they should have, there wouldn't have been a need for a class action lawsuit.

I already donate to a massive fund that should have been used to take care of these people in the form of taxes.

$75 million is $75 million. Period, end of discussion.

And if that's not enough, and you're going to sue me, well sparky, "Fuck You." No more bucks 'till the court settles the dust. You take your chances when you lean out for the brass ring.

All of your whining fell into the dust once I learned of the suit. At that point in time you became a shill. Hell, worse than that, shills and whores can expect payment. You'd fuck anyone for favor. So we're back to a really insecure, pre-menstrual, 13 year old Catholic school girl.

*chuckle*

Well, thats a really mature attitude there. I'm sure the judge will agree. But *I'M* the prepubescent school-girl? When all else fails, fall back on personal attacks to deflect from the actual issue eh?

Not only will this end up costing the taxpayers even MORE money in the long run than if the administration had simply done right by those who were injured, because you can bet your ass there will be punitive awards for those who did not receive treatment, but it illustrates exactly why "conservatives" are becoming more and more despised and the rhetoric of "patriotism" by them rings all the more hollow. But then, it's easier to just pass your financial irresponsibility off onto the next administration, or the next generation, rather than take care of it yourself.

People traveled from all over the country to lend a hand, were lied to about the safety of doing so by the federal government, then were given a big "fuck you" when they got sick.

Well yes, it is. I'm far less frivolous with your money than you are, apparently. Fortunately there's at least one adult in this discussion.

Didn't seem to be a big issue untill Shylock and his cousins got involved. Even the people on the scene seem to agree. You, you're just a cheap political whore willing to spend anyones money but your own.

Sooooo, how big is the check you're writing?

Democrat definition of a Fascist:

A conservative who's winning the argument.

Jonah Goldberg

Nanct Pelosi favors Trial Lawyer contributions over our nation's safety.

Barack believes we're safe as long as we're talking about hope and change.

Harry Reid believes we're safe as long as war is made on the Republican Party.

UD believes we're safe as long as he tilts at conservative fascists...
