The democrat debate last night.

Russert was really tough on Hillary. Something that would have been unthinkable just 4 months ago. The Clintons effectively used blackmail, ie 'access' as a tactic to manipulate the media for over a decade. But now that chinks are appearing in the Clintons armor, the media is turning on them like a panther in the dark.

My first thought was, "It's about time." My second thought was how in the world can you trust a media that would allow itself to be so blatantly manipulated? The Clintons, and anyother political figure, needs the media more than the media needs them. Is it more important for the reporters, etc. to be able to rub elbows with the politicos than the actual impartial reporting of the news?

Yah know, Russert didn't destroy her with that question, regardless of the source. She destroyed herself with her answer. She flopped around like a boated flounder. I just didn't see that question, in and of itself, as a trap. If you recall, that came up again in a later debate and Obama fumbled it as well, just not as badly as Hillary.

It's going to be a larger issue than many think. The problem is that McCain doesn't have anymore credibility on the issue than either Hillary or Obama.

The news should be impartial and fair, but as we all know, it does not work that way.

I think she's pretty much toast. Obama landed the heavy blows last night. The Ohio polls show the contest a toss-up and he lead in Texas razor thin. Add to that the fact that the polls have consistently under-polled Obama and things look even darker for her majesty.

But you're right, the press has found that the Clintons just aren't as invincible as they imagined and they're turning on both of them.

Should Obama win the nomination, the press will cover anything the Clintons have to say on page 20 below the fold.

Yep. It is my opinion Barack Obama is successfully exploiting her (and her husband's) mis-steps in her campaign and the media is cheering him on. Bill Clinton is not helping her cause and said some tone-deaf things in trying to speak on her behalf, not to mention the photo released to Drudge by her own people. From the focus group on Hannity and Colmes last night, voters seem to not give a shit about it. I believe Barack Obama has a good chance to land the Democratic nomination.

It's her in a nutshell, though. She's always tried to be all things to all people. So here we see her listening to ALL her advisors, changing tactics daily. I see her as that kind of President. She'll bomb or not bomb depending on who she talked to last.

Hillary was a Republican in the early 60s. She's been all over the map politically. She sniff's the wind and acts accordingly.

Florence King nailed Hillary back in 1992. Hillary is an overachiever who devotes herself to pleasing gatekeepers.
