I've come to the inescapable conclusion that most people who come to Lit are not really looking for anything. The Personals section is more or less just another way to play around and show off. I've met a couple of people from Lit but not via the personals. Just built up relationships by chatting to them first in the context of either their threads or in other threads then out with those as people feel more comfortable chatting to you directly...by that I mean messenger to start with.

I agree with you though, I don't think the personals are taken too seriously.
