... and a funky new bracelet!

Got admited to Hospital on Monday after a rather embarrasing incident in my Doctor's waiting room. I fainted, had a massive panic attack and got carted off in an Ambulance. Winnar! (Not)

So, they've been poking and prodding me, including attaching this lovely thing for 24 hours (I tried frying it with my phone AND WiFi but no luck >.<). Basically, they think I'm fainting/blacking out due to tension migranes caused by stress and overwork - my body is basically shutting itself down. Which is... terrifying. Right now, I'm really scared, because they're not entirely sure if this *is* the cause - they've ordered me to take two weeks off work and suggested I quit my job as I'm not up to it with all the crap going on in my life atm.

But yeah, this is what I came home with.

Husg Darlin :rose::kiss:

Now go have a couple of wild orgasms to give them something to talk about tomorrow. ;) :D

Damn! That's tiny - when I had one, it was a ruddy great box that was strapped to my hip, with the connecting wires going under my top. Very stylish

Hope it all works out OK, love.

(I like the bra too )

Oh that is a nice small cute heart monitor... Nice bra too!

About 14 months ago I fell asleep in belly dance class while dancing on my toes, moving sideways across the room in a pack. My dr thought it might be my heart so I got to wear a big hulking one with about 8 of those patches and a recording device attach to the waist of my pants. I wore it 24 hrs, even through another 90 min dance class. In the evening when I went to take off my bra I discover it was run through my bra. so I called the emergence number and they told me to unclip the electrode and then re attach it. Well when I did the monitor alert went off and it told me "REATTACH ELECTRODE NOW!!!" It scared the hell out of me. When it turned itself off it also made announcements for abut 5 mins before.

Anyway it wasn't my heart, it WAS sleep related - my rem sleep was getting interrupted, I had a sleep delay something, also my sleep stages and circadian rhythm was off. I have since gotten treated, am almost normal and haven't fallen asleep/passed out since.
As my grandmother would say "stay calm, there is no point borrowing trouble"

((Hugs)) darlin'. Hope the news is positive. Hang tough. :rose:

And it may actually be a silver lining.... Didn;t you say your sweetie was denied benefits because he lived with someone who worked? Well, you're not working now... and it's due to health problems, so I guess you could claim too. It might be worth reapplying.

When a hospital tried applying an ECG heart monitor to me it refused to do anything but flatline.

They also tried an EEG monitor for brain activity. That flatlined too.

No heart activity, no brain activity? I must be dead.

As King Og I've been dead a few thousand years so I suppose the monitors were right.

Eventually the hospital found that it was the electrical resistance of my skin that was causing the problem with the ECG. They had to scratch my skin with sandpaper until it bled before attaching the electrodes. Then they got a faint signal and my heart was perfectly healthy.

Then they tried again with the EEG. They attached as many contacts as the machine would take and turned the gain up as high as possible. Only then was there any sign that my brain was working. Apart from the skin resistance my skull bones were, and are, about 50% denser and thicker than normal. Now I know that was a sign that I had Ankylosing Spondilitis. Then it was just a nuisance to the diagnosing physician.

I have to carry a medical card in effect saying "If your machinery can't detect heart or brain electricity check for other signs before deciding that this patient is dead". Breathing and a pulse are good! Telling the equipment operators that I'm still alive is better. Swapping dirty jokes with them while their equipment says I'm dead is the best sign of all!

Hi all, thanks for all the good wishes both here and in PM, feeling ok today - I'm glad its a small one, my ex had one of the huge ones and when they said it was what they wanted me to have for 24 hours I kinda didn't want to! Heheh

Ogg - the first three times the nurse started this one, it said I was dead. I had to laugh.

heyas beautiful.
while im very sad to hear that you are having hard times now, im also very glad to hear that your doctors give a shit. its really awesome that they are being proactive and not just giving you meds to treat the symptoms.
im sending hugely positive vibes
