Ya Know You're Old When....

I used one at my first job.

You are the only person that remembers rotary phones. (I still have one in my kitchen, working).

My Mom has two in use now :D

I also remember phone #s with letters :D

Remember when a local call only required the last 4 numbers? :p

If you live in a small enough town that's still all you have to memorize even though you have to dial the whole thing. My kids were shocked when they learned that not everybody in the world has the same 3 digit prefix on their phone number.

You know you are old when you turn down going to the gogo with your friends bar so that you can go home and sleep instead.

You remember when toys didn't talk unless you made the words that they said.

Oh, hell, Thee, I remember rotary phones. It took forfrickin'EVER for my folks to get rid of theirs.

And I remember life before Call Waiting. In particular, I remember trying for HOURS to get in touch with them and could not, because my youngest sister had taken the (only!) phone into the bathroom so she could have a private conversation. I ended up calling the neighbors and asking them to step across the street and tell my folks to call me.

And when we had to move from Baton Rouge, LA to Vidalia, LA, and I was getting my phone services transferred, I was appalled to find out that they didn't have Call Waiting in Concordia Parish. "But...but I have a teenage daughter! I HAVE to have Call Waiting!"

I remember having a party line.......

Either you're older than me or you lived in a smaller town than the ones I lived in. I'd HEARD of party lines, but was not old enough to talk on the phone when they still existed.

I remember my parents getting that black and white TV and the grainy picture with big rabbit ears.....adding aluminum foil to the tips to get better reception.

I also remember when not a single store was open on Sunday and you 'rested' that day.

Going to a friend's house, standing by the door, and 'calling' them out to play.
