Question On where to get a question answered?

I wrote and submitted my first story, and received my first denial. I was a bit premature in just deleting the entire thing. I didn't relize it was only denied because it wasnt submitted under the correct catagory. I wish to resubmit only I actually dont have the final draft and I truely dont recall what i titled it... Am I out of luck here??? Who can if anyone help?

If you deleted it from the site, and deleted the final draft, my answer is, "Sounds like you're out of luck!"

I don't think stories get rejected for being submitted under the wrong category. I think the site editors assign categories at will and only take what you submitted it to as your best guess. (They seem to accept that as the category in most cases, though.)

If you don't have a copy yourself, though, and you deleted the one from your submission list here, I don't think it exists anywhere to be retrieved.

Seriously, have you emptied your recycle bin since you deleted the file? It could still be in the recycle bin.

Yes, I had a story rejected for the same reason once. Although, mine was supposed to be part of the chain

Helpful Advice....

Don't delete anything you write.

Keep it in a folder and if you have to, hide it from the kids. You never know, some major publisher might see it and offer you a million bucks for it. You'd hate to have to say... "I um, deleted it."

I have a folder called "Crap". I put all the crap I write in it. The good stuff goes in other folders.

The others are right. If you deleted the final draft, I'd say it's gone for good. Sorry.
