So, Im chating with Subkekilee online while getting the girls to bed last night. My cell phone rings. Its a number that's vaguely familiar. I answer, it sounds like my wife. She asks me what Im doing, I tell her that Im getting the girls into bed. "Oops! Im sorry I dialed the wrong number again."

Thats why the number was familiar, its the third time in a month that this person has dialed my phone, calling her boyfirend, our numbers must be close and I must sound like him.

I continued chatting with Skl and a thought struck me. I remember hearing of an urban legend of some lonley ass guy who either randomly sent a text message or sent it to the wrong number and wound up marrying the person that answered. I mentioned it to subkeki and she dared me to do something similar to this person that called.

I did, pretty much said "since you misdial my number so often, my name is Brad." She called right back and we actually had a great talk for about 15 minutes.

No, I didnt aske her out or anything, but found her myspace page. WHo knows a little alleviation from this continuing drama of surviving and separation is just what I might need. I wouldnt even mind if it didnt even go any farther than that phone conversation. It made me feel enjoyment and anticipation again, something thats been missing for quite some time.

Thanks, subkekilee for daring me.

I so know the feeling!! I had it the same way when I exchanged txt messages and then talked with the woman who found me via a dating site a couple of weeks ago.

Unfortunately it have ended now, and that makes me a bit sad, but I know I'll get through it again soon!

I was able to play it in Firefox. Brad, I'm so glad you were a recent beneficiary! (And congratulations on calling your mystery woman back...good chutzpah! :D )

Interestingly, I did check one of our local major food banks and they are not as in dire straits as Escondido's Interfaith Human Services Food Bank (I do live in a bigger city, though). I'm sure that getting the word out to as many sources as possible would help them. The newscast did make a point though, that recession fears may have impacted donations. This is unfortunate since even with the current economic climate, if every family donated one or two non-perishable items per week, no food bank (or their clients) would be suffering.

Here is their website for those who want to contact them about helping. The organization provides much more than the food bank but I'm sure a monetary donation toward resupplying the shelves would be appreciated.
