My DVD drive won't open. We've tried prying it, and tapping on it, but so far it hasn't worked. Anyone have a good idea on how to get it open?

There should be a small hole below the drive drawer.

Turn everything off and unplug from the mains.

A straightened paperclip inserted in the small hole should release the drawer.

I'm a redhead with the patience of a caffeinated pit bull. You don't want my help.

But, I am sorry. I hate it when that happens.

I'm a redhead too, and have been known to throw things against the wall for lesser infractions than not giving me my CD back:D

i was going to say coax it out with chocolate but I think Og's suggestion is better :p

Did it work? Mine has a trick to it, where you have to lift the left hand corner with your fingernail while pushing the button.

I've been around computers since the time when fixing them needed a soldering iron and valve changes.

(Or a large hammer) Anytime anyone needs CP/M, DOS 1.1 or IBM 1401 Machine Code I can probably help. I'm useless with Windows.

I'm sure many Litizens have used paperclips before.
