Need Help; Got Body Piercings?

I'm writing a chapter to a story that involves a strait-laced mother and daughter that get a little crazy and decide to get their nipples (maybe even belly buttons) pierced. This is foreign territory for me. Can anyone describe how it feels; a slight sting? Hurts like hell? Makes you dizzy? And for how long after does it keep hurting? How is it done? Is it embarrassing?

Any tips you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. The greater the detail, the better.

After starting this thread I then thought about googling the subject. Didn't take long to find out the facts. But if you have anything to add I'd still be interested in hearing.

My only experience on the subject was getting me ears pierced when I was still mostly a kid. I remember it hurting for maybe 5 minutes, but then that was just the ears, I bet other body parts would hurt a lot more.

I knew a girl who was an amateur masochist, she was looking forward to getting her nipples pierced, but I haven't seen her since that time so I couldn't tell if it was as fun as she was hoping it would be, although I doubt it.

I'm looking forward to your story, a mother and daughter getting matching piercings sounds kinky, I wonder what else they'll do. Does it has a title yet?

LOL at the risk of becoming a part of your story, I did this with my daughters a few years ago. Right after my divorce, they were after me to do something fun, which doesn't usually take much prodding. One night we all three got our belly buttons pierced together.

I went first, lol, I guess so they could chicken out if they wanted. It's not bad. They clean your stomach and he used betadine before piercing. Then they clamp the skin with an instrument that has openings for the needle to go through. It's a slight sting when the needle goes in, but it happens very fast. The only problem I had is that I heal very quickly, and the guy who did mine took out the needle and then reached for the jewelry. By the time he started back through, the opening was too narrow. He had to do it again, this time leaving the needle in place, and threading the jewelry in as he pulled the needle out.

My oldest daughter was next, and hers was quick and easy. She made me stand next to her, so she could watch me and hold my hand, but it happened almost before she could get a good grip. She didn't even feel it, until he was putting in the jewelry.

LOL, now my youngest daughter was a completely different story. She cried and squealed when he put the betadine on her stomach. She jumped when he clamped the skin, and nearly broke my fingers. Finally, she closed her eyes, and before she could realize what was happening, he had it done. She was fine until she saw some blood, and being the brave little soldier that she is, she passed out.

Mine didn't really hurt at all after, but both of my daughters complained about some minor pain for a few hours. It only took a few weeks to completely heal.

Great information, many thanks. Based on what I've read at links located through Google and the information I read at the link given to me by IrishEyesMI, the nipples seem to be much more problematic and risky. I think in the story the characters go in with the intent of getting the nipples pierced, then opt out and go for the belly ring.

Thanks for sharing, any help I can get is appreciated. If I'm ignorant of a subject I try and do some research before writing about it. So don't worry, I won't be asking for any help on how to build a dirty bomb... <joke!>

My belly button was nothing, even with having to go through scar tissue from a previous piercing there it wasn't a big deal and I found the cartilage piercing in my ear to be more painful.

I also have both nipples done, though people may think so the tongue piercing I got had more risks than the nipple piercings. It's a quick sting on the first one, but the second one hurt worse than the first because I was expecting it. The piercer has to clean your nipple, then when he puts some of the sterilizing stuff on he will kind of tug a little at your nipple to make it perky so he can pierce it. it's pretty much the same procedure as the belly button for the rest of it. The nipples become more sensitive in most cases, you have to be really careful for a couple of weeks because if you aren't you'll irritate them. Which means no nipple stimulation from your partner or anything like that for a couple of weeks because while it will feel good it will also hurt. With the metal going through it you will be more sensitive to cold, until they heal completely it will be slightly painful. if you have a hoop in it you have to alternate making sure the ring is down and up by either bandaid or if you can your bra. Contrary to popular belief they are safe to have, actually more safe than a tongue piercing or many other piercings. Despite what people say you can have your nipples pierced and breast feed, there are so many stereotypes for nipple piercings that just aren't true...

I have my right nipple pierced. It stung a little at first and for about a week it ached,unless I bumped it. I'm a home health nurse and I was checking a client's heartbeat with the stethoscope and not thinking, I draped it around my neck when I was done. The bell hit my nipple and i thought I would go through the ceiling. The client asked me what was wrong and I told her I was just jumpy that day for some reason. LOL

But I do have the following very true story about a friend of mine here in Russia which you may feel free to work into a story... should you desire to.

He was getting a lap dance from a young woman naked except for a belly button jewel.... Things were going swimmingly as she undulated on, over and around him as he sat in the booth.... (things are little more wide open here, in that regard)

He had his eyes closed just enjoying the pleasant sensations when he realized she had stopped moving. He looked down and saw her laying across his lap head down.... She looked up at him and quietly but plaintively said "Help".

It took ten very careful minutes to unhook her jewel from his zipper.
