Piece of cake.

The multi-quote icon's right next to the quote icon {lower right}.
The way I've used it is to click on it from as many posts as I want then I click on the reply icon; the text box then reminds me that I've got a number of quotes I've selected. Respond accordingly and the rest is simple.

I havent got one! Is this something else you get awarded with after 1000 posts? My you have been busy on here while I was asleep (or not as the case maybe .. his lordship was in snore mode last night) It is 0716 here and my eye lids are propped open but I have an internet obsession so here I am fuelled with hot coffee. I am a child of the 60s and I still reckon we had the best of any music era. Glam rock followed on in the 70s I never understood Punk and in my mind it was mostly downhill from there on in.
One time whilst on holiday in Madeira I worked my way through the cocktail list I don't really remember much about it except it seemed fun at the time.
Going way back in the posts (can't exactly quote) but something about kissing with no sex. Now to me kissing is a very intimate thing and because of this I don't give that many at the start of an encounter ... my lips do not get welded until we are way way more involved if you get my drift!

Oh blast n dammit this thing has just made a liar of me and delivered the plus and minus thingy ...... I reckon it's because for some stupid reason it keeps logging me out between posts which it never did before ... bloody temperamental isnt it?

I saw this over on my happy home boards here, but I immediately thought the groove, presentation, and bad-assed artsiness of it belonged here.

And let me be the first to say that my :p is indeed Marxist.

I'm all for bad-ass artsiness, but I'm bettin most of those bourgeois-hatin North Korean women would trade the family photo of Kim Jong-il for just one evil capitalist vibrator. :D

blasted thing won't open aghhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, sometimes it's been kicking me out between posts as well. I'm sure they're still tweaking it, or maybe my machine just has a language barrier or a neurosis or something.

The Venus is out and I am on duty at the bistro for the day. Still cold here - I'm thinking pasta. Salmon fettucine, maybe a little cannelloni with meat sauce... And coffee. Lots and lots of coffee to get us all out of the damn January doldrums.

Homburg, you've found one of my favorite artists. Here's the fabulous piece that got me started on her a few years back.

As to Kansas weather, I must say this. It only gets ridiculously cold (which I mind) or ridiculously hot (which I don't mind) about two weeks in a season. The rest of the time it's pretty reasonable, one way or another. What I love is that Spring and Autumn go on and on and on, with an immense variety but hardly ever unmanageable.

UYS, I hope you're having better luck now. Today I'm going to add a link to the poetry on the fridge. It'll be in the first post, which I'll continue to update as appropriate.

smooches, everyone, and welcome.

eta: (I'm doing a hell of a lot of this eta stuff lately) whoops, missed a post. Tristesse, I LOVE Boz Scaggs. Haven't thought about him in years. Yum, thanks!

The Bistro Fridge Collection

Yeah, you're all going on the fridge, like it or not. That's what Poetry Mom does. This will be updated regularly, or whenever.

I listened to some Oscar
and mourned the jazz piano
in smoky haze while just one
whiskey sours forgotten
the empty tip glass waits
until sexy suit leans in to
share sandalwood
and patchouli just outside
my reckoning until recognized
the invitation accepted
and the bar is no more
beyond the light we dance.

Piano rolls through stride
and boogie, bop and dissonance,
flatted fifths, vapors of a world
gone Jazz
at the Philharmonic.
Black and white in rhythm.
Bean and Mulligan Stew.
Flathat cats and minor keys
four, four brushed on hi hats,
brass vibrato, tenor moans,
gut bucket vamps, the call,
response Sir Oscar gone
to join the royalty
where gates swing with Pops
and Duke, Prez and Arvil, little jazz
and all those sophisticated ladies,
songbirds in silk and gardenias.
Listen: a sailboat in the moonlight
trailing past the stars.

Doc's Orders

Of an Rx filled, refilled twice daily
as required and on demand
I find that deep narcotic slumber
drifts dreamless but to wake
in wetness. Thighs, lips
parted and damp. The doctor
said as required and I need
it all the time, part my thighs
open my mouth and say,

Ahh.

On the outside looking in
through windows
smoked by a thousand breaths.
Distant glasses ice splintered
dulled roar of the crowd
in rhythm

From the outside

- by UnderYourSpell

I'm hunched over my coffee and cream
in the corner reluctant to excuse
myself and face the exercise that pulls
and draws tight flesh from bones
as cruel physios invoke screams
from adhered scars that refuse
to release my tormented flesh. Skull
grinning rictus as teeth clench, moans
leech from my throat and I must go.

A Taste of Green

The wormwood blossom
fable hallucinogenic dip
and dervish spin whorls
of mountains tumbled
and lies with licorice
tainted lips whisper

anise scented bitters.
Sip my lovely in velvet
lined chambers secret
stories of artist poets
lovers together slick
satiation follows taste
peppered past your heart.

Colours! Woven restraint
wrapped round limbs
Bodies enshrined in immobility
Free to move in stillness
Taut lines give eyes
impressions of movement
while
holding
very
...still.

- by Homburg

Finally, it has begun. In silence
the small flakes drift downward
outside my window. I have nothing
to do, nowhere to be. I sit frozen
in ambivalence, watch the weather
change directions on a whim,
see my reflection pleading
from the flurries, asking for respite

I have no fear of the future
for it's the past that holds this
imprisoned soul.
Curling tendrils of memory
staunch and suffocate,
some misted, some stark charred,
burn where they touch.
Tying painful knots, cracked
but holding still.
Paint peeling festering sores
locked away, breaking free
to haunt.

- by UnderYourSpell

Spiralled whorls of shining cord
strung thick around glorious curves.
Shhh, don't speak. Watch
blood draw mottled delight
on flesh with ropes stretched
tightness determined by each breath.
Ohhh, yes darling. Moan
happy thrills with raised down.
Your spine becomes a pathway
for this line of coarser strands
twisted up against the lines of qi.
Hmmm, my love? Bound
up in desire and need, secure
wraps just right for comfort
but if we pull and loosen this one-
Yesss, I'm ready.

Darkroom

In the darkroom he works quietly
as if alone, padding back and forth.
It’s a small space, but he moves
easily in confidence he checks
the time he adjusts the emulsion.

Careful man.
Methodical.

Spacing prints just so,
studying images, thinking
of balance, thinking of ambiguity,
the contradiction of light and dark,
and the gray border blends of these.

“Why is there pain in pleasure?”

His low voice is answered
in the sibilance of her breath.

He rises before her.
His eyes traverse the silk
of her silk, the silk of her skin,
the curve of her hip poised
straining to maintain her balance
of heel to floor.

The drape of her wrists bound
above her
the purple grosgrain
lying in petals against
the ivory grace of her still hands.

‘Why is there liberation in control?”

he says arranging the swath of her hair
in shining complement to her breast.

He caresses her cheek,
sets her face aside the outstretched arm,
and smiling tenderly
their eyes meet.

He traces her smile
behind the leather
and whispers

“Why is this love?”

There is, by the way, a set of new links in the first thread post for all the specific wackiness. I've just added the Fridge link. I may have to do a set of posts for that so they don't get too long. At least, I hope I'll have to do that. Keep it coming, you lovely people.

Must pull in the statue until tomorrow, but help yerselves. Plenty of pasta left, and I expect that Tess might be in, so I left the Glenmorangie out, as well as the Oban and the Balvenie and the Glenfiddich and the Talisker.

Perhaps a nice comforting cocoa with a bit of mint liquer for UYS, if you're still struggling with the computer demons...

blessings, all, and have a lovely evening. You have my deep and sincere gratitude.

Brilliant stuff. I need to peruse that site some more.

All this talk of Kansas weather, and knowing of enchantments and wonder, I find myself thinking of spring. It puts me in the mind of a May Day party where I was challenged to write a poem to the Queen of May. For whatever reason, my inner beat poet stepped up, and I made something akin to this:

Want to touch your silken hair
Please don't mind me if I stare

Queen of May...
...May I?

Hair round which the flowers ring
Lady makes the Robins sing

Queen of May...
...May I?

Want to taste your lips of wine
Springtime momma, oh so fine

Queen of May...
...May I?

Touch that makes the flowers grow
Beauty makes the breezes blow

Queen of May...
...May I?

Feel your warmth down in my bones
Sing to you in dulcet tones

Queen of May...
...May I?

Take your hand to dance and whirl
And find the woman in the girl

Queen of May...
...May I?

I'll be over here in my beret and turtleneck. bj, your flowers are on your desk. :rose:

Champers, I've been meaning to ask...can I drive your mini for you ?

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said baby, can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star on the screen
But you can do something in between

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told that girl that my prospects were good
And she said baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told that girl I can start right away
When she said listen babe I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I found a driver and that's a start

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

The mini's in the garage, it gets started once a week but doesn't get moved beyond a tire rotation and back. They don't make low profile winter tires for the 17 inch sport rims so to put snows on all four corners I need to buy wheels and rubber = 2400 bucks or so ... no no no no... I need to save and I can't save until I can get back to work and I can't work until my knees will hold me up, or I learn office management (bleh) skills...

So, come spring, with repaired knees and dry roads under my arse, I'll be driving my mini baby.

What a shame, when I could be toolin' you around in style, sister! :D

Make sure you get menus and signage carefully checked to avoid an embarrassing faux pas, though you might get some interesting customers with a sign for Ho Parking.

I have a problem (yeah yeah not that one) being 8 hours ahead of you I keep missing you all then I come on to dregs in bottom of bottles. Homb can I settle for your personal plug in? It rained and blew so much here yesterday all I needed was a sailing ark and you nearly lost me when I went out to feed the birds and did a fine impression of Bambi on ice through the mud pit which was once my garden.

Which plug-in are we talking about?

Oh!

You'll need a plug-in if it doesn't open.

You prob forgotten it's so far back but you keep starting without me
