Suzanne Pleshette, 70, ‘Newhart’ Actress, Dies

'The Bob Newhart Show' was one of my favorite sitcoms--probably one of the best ensemble comedies ever made.

I will always remember her as Emily Hartley. :)

Sad, sad news. :(

Suzanne was a lovely and very talented woman....I have fond personal memories of the single occasion I met her....sighs...:rose::rose::rose:

I envy you. She always had that rare ability to play sexy or funny or both.

This Friday at 11:30 pm (CST?) TCM will broadcast the comedy, Support Your Local Gunfighter, with her and James Garner along with just about every character actor in Hollywood including: Dub Taylor, Jack Elam, Harrry Morgan, Kathleen Freeman, and Joan Blondell as, what else, the local "Madam" with a heart of gold.

Rumple Foreskin

I don't remember too much about the Bob Newhart show.

I do remember his second show, Newhart. With Larry and Darryl and the other brother Darryl?

And the last episode, an incredible classic, which took Newhart back to his first series?

Still makes me grin.

Rest in peace, Ms. Pleshette.

:rose:

Yes. I still think that was the most brilliant final episode to date.

For those who may not recall, the first series had Newhart living in the city where he was a psychiatrist and was married to Pleshette. In the second series years later he owned a B&B in the country, different wife. The last scene, I think, of the final episode in the second series had Newhart wake up next to Pleshette, in their city home, talking about a strange dream he had.

RIP - I remember all of them... She was Awesome however....will be missed in the world of acting...:rose:

He told her she should wear more sweaters. What a classic ending to a classic show.
