Ropework photos

As to the rope front of this weekend, I did a bunch of tying in the Bondage Lounge, in our room, in IYM's room, at parties, and, once or twice, in random walkways. Good stuff.

I went looking to visit Rainbow Ropes, Kinky Rope, and Twisted Monk, and got to shop, and talk shop, with all of them. Monk struck me as very personable, Jack at Kinky Rope is entertaining, and the Rainbow Ropes people are great folk.

I'll also be updating my rope info, as I now own rope from each.

Kinkyrope - has a great variety of different types of rope, as well as really creative products made from rope. I purchased some flax from him, and fond that it works right well. Some people don't like the smell, but it reminded me of horses. So if you like horses and clean barn smells, flax is good stuff. It's also a bit stronger than hemp, and suppposedly lower maintenance

Twisted Monk - simply the finest hemp I've seen. It really is that gorgeous. Cannot say this more strongly - you cannot get better hemp for the money. You can't really get better hemp for more money, from what I've seen. And the white linen hemp is to die for.

Rainbow Ropes - I just cannot say enough good things about their MFP. If you are not going to go natural fibre, for the many reasons why you might not want natural fibre, I cannot pimp Rainbow Ropes MFP more highly. It's wonderful stuff, and I fell in love with it. Soft like nylon, and such incredible rich colours. No, don't buy it if you want natural fibre, as it won't compare, but it is the finest synth stuff I've seen. They also have an excellent selection of medical play implements.

I'll take pics of the various ropes I purchased, and discuss pro, cons, and features as I get them collated.

I also picked up a Benchmade Rescue Hook. MUCH better than shears. MUCH. Seriously. And Kinky rope has them for less than you will see in pretty much any store out there. He's got em for $25 when most stores I've seen are in the $30-35 range.

I was a bit too focused on ties, and not thinking, so I had no one taking pics with my camera. Fortunately, IYM and the photographer were both thinking. I got a fun new toy from here Plus, I was able to get my Owner something he'd been lusting after.

Pretty pink rope! I it Some acid green was also purchased. I stood and drooled at all the colors several times. Here is one picture of the pink rope in use.

Hopefully they'll give a feel for the energy in the room. Everybody was up and happy and joking, and having a great time. While I love the contemplative quiet of working a private tie with "v", I really dig performance tying in settings like that.

Anchor the line at the waist, or somewhere similar. Run a single line down the side of the leg. Make a turn with the line, like you were making an L-shape with it. Run the line around the leg, then through the L-shape, and down. This produces the sort of crossed lines look. Then you repeat the process as needed.

If that isn't clear, I can take some sequential pics to illustrate it better.

I was sent another question via PM (posted with permission):

My question to you would be about breast bondage. I have very petite breasts, talkin about almost non-existing here, barely 30A. J has some experience of ropework, but he has never worked with someone with as petite breasts as mine are. The problem we have encountered is that it has turned out to be very difficult or nearly impossible to make a tight breast harness, the kind that kind of "squeezes" the breasts flat. The ropes always "slip" after a while.

Now, I am wondering if you have ever experienced such a situation and could help. Is there some "trick" there other than using a rope with a smaller diameter maybe? Or maybe it simply is impossible to do, I don't know.

The first thing is smaller diameter ropes. I prefer 6mm aka 1/4". It turns well, knots well, and doesn't roll as much as thicker ropes. Some people prefer stuck as heavy as 7/16", but it's just not my thing. The thickest rope I use is 3/8", and that is generally only as suspension line, as it bears weight very well.

The second thing to do is the properly support your lines above and below the breasts. This is easier to show than to describe, and the next post will have pictures of just that. I got the initial pics of sinn0cent and her friend from the weekend, and I will post them here shortly. No idea how she relates size-wise, but she's a very petite lady, and I had no trouble at all binding her breasts in a very decorative and functional way.

As an aside, one thing I love to do with petitie ladies is more detail work in the collar bone area. Petite breasts allow for more work than I am usually comfortable with, as it doesn't throw off the balance of the tie. In point of fact, the two lovely ladies in these pics are a good example of that sort of balance. You'll see.

New pics! These are from saturday, from the Fetish Fair Fleamarket. Lovely time there, and a great portion of the reason why we had so much fun was meeting and hanging out with IYM, sinn, and their friends. They're fantastic people, plain and simple.

And, without further ado, here's the photos that IYM took. Eventually we'll have the shots that the photographer took. I'll post those here as well.

I am VERY happy with these photos. The crimson hemp and undyed flax worked together so very, very well. And, frankly, I just loved working with sinn and her friend. Not sure what we're going to call sinn's friend yet, as I doubt she has a scene name, so, for now, it'll just be SF, for sinn's friend. Lame, I know, sorry.

We'll start with the pics that came second, chronologically, as I did a bit of tying at a party we all attended after the main tie. I'm putting these first because, well, I want to. So there.

I was illustrating the hair tie to some folks that wanted to see it, and I just like both the colour response here (the pink rope just pops) and sinn's smile.

Another party shot. As you can see, we had more than a bit of tying going on at this one. Before we were done here, there was a third pair that had joined in.

I was asked about tying breast harnesses on women with petite breasts. No idea what size sinn's are, but, frankly, she's petite. Her breasts are still large enough for a nice harness though, as you can see here. The big things to note are the supporting lines to keep the harness in place, the cinch rope on the lower lines between the arm and torso (you can kind of see it), and the detail work done above the breasts.

Here's an initial shot of the back. I really liked how it turned out. There's a bit going on here, and it just looks lovely from my perspective. Her shoulder blades ar ein a comfortable spot, and nicely outlined and emphasised by the lines, and the two colours contrast nicely.

On the bed with you! Yes, those panties are that shiny, and more, in person.

Another great back shot. And you can see that she's smiling. The whole time she was standing, and I was tying, sinn was the consummate hostess, keeping the room entertained and laughing with her stories. Once she was on the bed, quiet. She was happy and loving it, and the rest of the room was allowed to sink or swim on its' own

The ebi tie begins to form. The ebi, or shrimp, tie is the Japanese hog-tie. It's a great imobiliser, and has the lovely added side benefit of not dislocating your wrists like the Western one can. Bonus, eh?

Final shot of the back detail on sinn. I just love this pic from a technical standpoint. The leftover rope from the double-column tie with spreader on the ankles allowed me to do some additional decorative weaving. It turned out rather well, and I am especially happy with the shoulder straps.

Here's we have SF. She'd never been tied before, and was cajoled into it, but very rapildy started to enjoy herself quite a bit. She was a fantastic bottom, and very comfortable with the rope.

When you have two lovely ladies tied up, what is the natural thing to do? Why, yes, tie them together! So here's the start of it. This was actually quite fun, and I had an interesting time figuring how best to attach them together. Good stuff, and you'll note that both are giving us lovely smiles. Makes me a happy Rope Top!

And here is the almost finished product. I did a quick and dirty binding on their legs at SF's request, and the photographer has photos of that, but you guys get the idea of how fun this was from these shots.

I do wish I'd had more time, but this event had a LOT going on as it was. I had a great time working with these two wonderful ladies, and definitely would love to get a chance to work with them again.

I'm looking forward to seeing the sort of shots that the photographer took as well.
